The second T20 clash between England Women and India Women takes place on Tuesday (18:30 BST, Sky Sports Cricket), as the two sides go head-to-head in Bristol. The tourists inflicted a record defeat on England in the first match of the series, and Charlotte Edwards’ team will need to raise their levels if they are to compete.

Below are my England Women and India Women predictions, supported by team news and match odds.

Team News

Nat Sciver-Brunt top-scored for England in the first match, with 66 off 42 balls, and she will concentrate solely on her batting again on Tuesday.

The all-rounder is still recovering from an Achilles injury and has revealed that she won’t bowl in any of the white-ball games against India.

Cricket Odds

India are expected to name the same starting line-up, with fitness concerns still surrounding seamers Pooja Vastraker and Renuka Singh Thakur.

England Women vs India Women Odds

Despite their heavy defeat in the first game, hosts England are the 4/7 favourites to take the victory in Bristol.

India can be backed at 11/8 to claim a win and take a 2-0 series lead, while the visitors are 5/6 to have the highest opening partnership.

India to win @ 11/8

Many eyebrows were raised after India’s 97-run victory at Trent Bridge on Saturday, with England suffering their heaviest T20 defeat on record.

The home side were soundly beaten, and it will take a massive turnaround in fortunes for them to level the series, especially when you consider England didn’t see out 5.1 overs of their run chase.

There was no doubting the star of the show with the bat, as Smriti Mandhana smashed 112 runs off just 62 balls to help India make 210-5.

Another positive for the tourists was the fact that five of their bowlers shared the England wickets, with Shree Charani taking four scalps.

The left-arm spinner finished with figures of 4-12 from just 3.5 overs, while Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav took two wickets each.

The size of the task facing England is highlighted by the batting scorecard, with just three players reaching double figures in Nottingham.

Top England Batter - Tammy Beaumont @ 4/1

If England are to have a chance of turning the series around, a lot will depend on their middle order.

The hosts were 9-2 after 1.1 overs in the first game, and without Sciver-Brunt’s 66, the defeat would have been even worse.

Tammy Beaumont is likely to bat again at four, and the Kent wicketkeeper has reached double figures in each of her last six T20 international matches.

The 34-year-old has a T20 hundred and 10 half-centuries to her name and could play a crucial role on Tuesday.
