There is another Brit defending his IBF Flyweight world title on Saturday night, as Sunny Edwards takes on Andres Campos at Wembley Arena. We’ve taken a look and given our prediction.

Edwards vs Campos Predictions

  • Sunny Edwards to win by Points – 2/13

Sunny Edwards (19-0-0 (4KO)) defends his IBF Flyweight title for the fourth time on Saturday night and will see this fight as an opportunity to really get his name out there for potential unification fights down the line.

In the opposition corner is Andres Campos (15-0-0 (4KO)), an unbeaten Chilean, who appears to have supreme confidence that he will upset the applecart here and pull off one of the biggest shocks in years.

The two met up for a first face off on Wembley Way and it ended in a bit of a head banger.

So will Showtime put on another masterclass or can the challenger shock the boxing world?

Where and when is the fight taking place?

The fight is happening at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London, on Saturday Jun 10th and will be broadcast live and exclusively on DAZN in the UK. The event is a Eddie Hearn promotion for Matchroom Boxing.  The show will start at around 7pm, with the main ring walk taking place at around 10 pm.

Who’s the favourite?

Edwards is the 1/33 favourite for this world title defence, with Campos the outsider at 11/1. If you fancy this one to be closer than the bookmakers suggest, then the draw is available at 22/1.

What’s been said?

Edwards:

“Campos has been calling for a fight with me for a couple years now since I’ve been champion which is strange to me.

So, now I’m gonna cook him like sweet chilli and send him back packing with his tail between his legs, the little muppet!”

Campos:

“Sunny Edwards has never fought against anyone like me.I am by far the best opponent that he will have faced. I have lots of experience fighting against and defeating undefeated guys from both the amateurs and pros.

I am starving for success. I am so hungry to win this World Title and make history for Chile.

Sunny Edwards is good, but he is not good enough to beat me. I know that I am better than him and I will show you all on Saturday night.

I have three scenarios: scenario A, B and C. We have trained so hard for each one. Sunny won’t be able to run away from me like a dancer. He is just dancing and running all the time. I will send him to sleep before the twelfth round.”

Sunny Edwards to win by Points – 2/13

I watched a fair bit of Campos in the prep for this article and he looks a tough, traditional latin style fighter, with heavy hands and a come forward style.

However, this kind of fighter is absolutely tailor made for Edwards. The 27-year-old has tremendous footwork an is ridiculously hard to hit.

I can only see the Chilean getting more and more frustrated as his punches hit fresh air and he will eventually tire, allowing Edwards to pick him off at will.

Expect a total domination from the Londoner and a wide decision on the cards.

Enjoy the fight and good luck!
