Only Arsenal are capable of competing with big favourites Manchester City to win the 2023-24 Premier League title.
That is the verdict of Paul Parker, the former Manchester United full back who won 19 England caps and played for three London clubs namely QPR, Fulham and Chelsea during his stellar career.
Parker told the Betfred TV Talking Points football show that Arsenal’s chances have been boosted by the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham…a midfielder whose all action style he likened to the Reds Captain Fantastic Bryan Robson.
But Parker had two warnings for Pep Guardiola’s City rivals…he thinks the illustrious coach has something else up his sleeve to cope with the enforced absence through injury of Kevin De Bruyne and he is looking for even more from last year’s Premier League top scorer Erling Haaland.
He doesn’t think Liverpool or United fans really expect their respective teams to win the title – and predicts another good season for Newcastle with them again finishing fourth.
