Lucky 15 Tips: Liam points to four from Ponte and Uttoxeter

Sunday is set to be a quiet day on the racing front, with just two meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland, but the action is likely to be quality and competitive.
For my Lucky 15 tips, I've opted for two from Uttoxeter - including a progressive Dan Skelton runner - and another couple from Pontefract.
Lucky 15 Tips - Sunday 26 July 2026
- 15:42 Uttoxeter - Sunray Shadow @ 2/1
- 16:00 Pontefract - Holloway Boy @ 8/11
- 16:12 Uttoxeter - Karnaval Point @ 7/2
- 16:30 Pontefract - Percy's Daydream @ 7/2

15:42 Uttoxeter - Sunray Shadow @ 2/1
Champion trainer Dan Skelton is doing his best to mop up all the summer prize money and he can do so again here with the progressive SUNRAY SHADOW. The seven-year-old has been in excellent form since May, winning four of his five starts, over hurdles and fences.
Victorious in a Class 3 handicap hurdle at Huntingdon in May, he made a winning start over fences at Worcester and scored with plenty in hand when coming out on top over course and distance last time out. The handicapper will catch up eventually but a 4lb rise won’t stop him.
This looks like a very competitive event, with several bang in-form contenders, but Dan Skelton’s gelding remains unexposed over fences and can take full advantage.
16:00 Pontefract - Holloway Boy @ 8/11
Karl Burke’s HOLLOWAY BOY is a Royal Ascot winner, having landed the Chesham Stakes on debut as a two-year-old and the six-year-old has performed consistently since. This son of Ulysses doesn’t win too often but there’s no excuses for not winning this Listed contest.
A valiant second in an Ascot Listed race on seasonal debut, he then struggled under a massive weight in the Royal Hunt Cup, but bounced right back to form when second by a narrow margin the Group 2 Summer Mile when last seen.
A similar effort here should be more than enough and this is as good an opportunity as he’s going to get for a return to winning ways at this level.
16:12 Uttoxeter - Karnaval Point @ 7/2
David Pipe has had some success already this season, with his policy of importing horses from France to run in lower grades over here and KARNAVAL POINT has been in good form since making the switch to Britain, winning twice in two starts, and there’s more to come.
He landed a 2m4f handicap chase at Worcester on stable debut and wasn’t inconvenienced by the step back up in trip when winning here, again over fences, earlier this month. Perhaps connections can take advantage of the fact that his hurdles mark is 5lb lower here.
16:30 Pontefract - Percy's Daydream @ 7/2
David O’Meara’s PERCY’S DAYDREAM looks like the one to beat here and the handicapper has done her a favour by dropping her 3lb for finishing fourth in a better race at Newmarket earlier this month. She has already won twice this season and can make it three here.
The daughter of Sir Percy won with plenty in hand when scoring by four lengths at Beverley last month and didn’t disgrace herself in a 1m4f Listed race after that. This looks like a very winnable race for the grade and it’ll be a surprise if the four-year-old isn’t bang in the mix.
If all four selections won at the quoted prices, a 50p win Lucky 15 would return around £164 for a £7.50 total stake.
