Turkey
It's a wonder as to how a team containing the talents of Arda Guler, Hakan Calhanoglu and Kenan Yildiz will be heading home from the World Cup regardless of the result of their final group-stage contest with USA.
Vincenzo Montella has overseen dismal losses to Australia and Paraguay and there is now no chance of progression for the Crescent-Stars.
Turkey are expected to continue with their 4-2-3-1 formation in Inglewood, with Deniz Gul leading the line. Guler and Yildiz are set to provide the quality, support and creativity behind a lone striker and much more was expected of that talented duo.
The experienced Calhanoglu will shield the defence, but Galatasaray midfielder Yunus Akgun is a doubt for the clash with the USMNT.
It's been a hugely disappointing effort from Turkey, but Montella will hope to salvage something from the North American trip by winning at the SoFi Stadium.
USA
USA have secured qualification for the knockout rounds as winners of Group D and there is nothing more for the Stars and Stripes to do than continue the positive feeling they have created.
Mauricio Pochettino has created a real buzz for the hosts and the USMNT have impressed in victories over Australia and Paraguay.
Before the USA turn their attention to the knockout rounds of the World Cup, they must complete formalities against Turkey in California.
Christian Pulisic and Cristian Roldan are struggling to be fit and they are unlikely to be risked by Pochettino.
The USMNT boss may also consider leaving out Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson, Tyler Adams and Folarin Balogun, who are one yellow card away from suspension.
Celtic defender Auston Trusty is in line for a start in defence, while Giovanni Reyna could come into the attacking positions and Haji Wright may lead the forward line in the absence of Balogun.
Turkey vs USA Key Players
Arda Guler
Guler really should have been a star in North America, but instead the Real Madrid man will soon be on the plane home.
The 21-year-old has been Turkey's star of the show, hitting 11 shots and creating four good chances, but it hasn't been enough for the Crescent-Stars to stay in the World Cup.
Guler is young enough to come again, but he will need support from his team-mates if Turkey want to move forward.
Weston McKennie
With Pulisic and Balogun likely to be left out in California, Weston McKennie can be the USA’s driving force.
The Juventus midfielder was excellent at both ends of the pitch in the 2-0 victory over Australia and that followed a solid display in the USMNT's 4-1 success against Paraguay.
The 27-year-old has the engine and quality to dominate midfield areas and the Stars and Stripes will rely on the control that McKennie can offer against Turkey.
