Horse Racing Tips: Cameo can land Naas’ Group 3 prize

A heatwave is hitting Britain this week and the high temperatures have led to the cancellation of the majority of Wednesday's fixtures, but we've still got Group 3 and Listed action on offer, with Britain and Ireland providing one fixture apiece.
Carlisle are offering up a compelling eight-race card and their feature event is the Listed Eternal Stakes, which has attracted a competitive field of 12. Naas provides the action in Ireland, including the race of the day, which is the Group 3 Jannah Rose Stakes.

This means there are 15 opportunities to find a winner on Wednesday and our expert has picked out their three strongest fancies across the day. Among them is an Aidan O'Brien-trained runner at Naas who can thrive now back on better ground.
16:02 Carlisle - Albaydaa @ 15/8
William Haggas has been selective and very successful with his runners at Carlisle so far this season as three of his four runners have come out on top, giving him a 75% strike-rate. ALBAYDAA goes up to Listed level for the first time and a big run is expected.
The daughter of Pinatubo took a big step forward to win a Wolverhampton maiden by a wide margin on her final start of last season and looked very smart when doing so. Making all the running on that occasion, she was always in command and much too good for her rivals.
Dropping back to 6f didn't suit on her handicap debut at Newmarket in April, but she still ran a nice race to finish third. Second to a very progressive horse at Ascot next time, she managed to go one better over course and distance last time out.
Obviously a handicap mark of 86 indicates that she has a bit to find in order to compete at this level but she's likely to progress and can go close here if doing so.

17:05 Carlisle - Wine Dark Sea @ 1/1
Harry Charlton runs the very lightly raced WINE DARK SEA here and there could be a significant amount of improvement still to come from the four-year-old.
Producing a promising display on debut at Yarmouth, he stuck to his task well to finish second at a fair price. He was therefore a little disappointing in his next two starts, but took a big step forward to win on handicap debut at Kempton back in August.
His narrow second in a valuable handicap at Newmarket in October was an excellent effort and he went one better at Ascot on seasonal debut.
A 5lb rise could prove to be generous off the back of that comfortable victory and he's probably still ahead of the handicapper.

18:40 Naas - Cameo @ 11/8
This probably isn't the deepest Group 3 that will be run in Ireland this term and Wayne Lordan rides CAMEO for Aidan O'Brien here. She can be forgiven for her performance in the Oaks last time out and should find life much easier in this lower grade.
The daughter of Wootton Bassett is out of a Group 2-placed mare and she won her maiden in good style at the Curragh in October. Both Sinmara, who is also in this field, and impressive Oaks winner Thundering On were in behind her on that occasion.
Bolting up in the Lingfield Oaks Trial, it remains to be seen if the form amounts to much but she did it in very good style.
The ground was significantly more testing than advertised at Epsom and the better ground combined with the drop in grade make her the one to beat.
