South Africa vs South Korea Bet Builder Tips: 9/1 treble includes Son to get off the mark in Monterrey

Monterrey Stadium is the venue for South Africa and South Korea’s final Group A match on Thursday morning (2am BST, Wednesday 7pm local, live on BBC One).
The Taegeuk Warriors head into their final group tie knowing a draw would be enough to secure them a second-place finish and a guaranteed spot in the last 32. South Africa could also still qualify for the next round depending on other results. Read on for my South Africa vs South Korea Bet Builder tips.

South Africa vs South Korea Odds
South Korea to win
South Korea are a solid performance away from the knockout stages at the World Cup, while realistically, South Africa need to win to give themselves a chance of getting out of Group A – and I think that plays into South Korea’s hands.
Their come-from-behind win over Czech Republic was impressive, and despite following up that result with a 1-0 loss to Mexico, they need just one point to qualify for the last 32.
While the 1-1 draw against the Czechs felt like a positive result for South Africa, the reality is I just don’t think Bafana Bafana have the tools to hurt South Korea.
South Africa have not won any of their last seven and have kept just one clean sheet in 10, so, for me, the writing is on the wall.
Heung-min Son to score anytime (Sub Switch)
Heung-min Son is yet to score at this World Cup, but it isn’t for a lack of trying.
The Los Angeles FC star had six shots in South Korea’s opener against Czech Republic and remains the focal point of their attack.
He was in prolific form last term, netting 12 goals in 13 Major League Soccer matches but he’s yet to open his account for this season – although he’s recorded nine assists.
I’m expecting the former Tottenham Hotspur man to get off the mark in Monterrey.

Khuliso Mudau to be carded (Sub Switch)
Finally, I’m backing South Africa right-back Khuliso Mudau to be carded.
The Mamelodi Sundowns man has attempted eight tackles across his country’s opening two matches and committed three fouls.
The 31-year-old is expected to be up against a lively winger in Jae-Sung Lee, who had five touches in the opposition box against Czech Republic and proved himself to be a handful.
Mudau will need to be at his sharpest to contain South Korea’s attack, and I can see him being caught out at some stage, and finding his way into the referee’s notebook.
