Greyhound Tips: Sizzling afternoon at Hove awaits

Three selections from Hove's Nevill Road circuit this afternoon, on an ultra-competitive card featuring twelve graded races. Our greyhound expert Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle) guides us, as per - should be fun.

1 pt 15:38 Hove – Romantic Richy (T1) @ SP

At 15:38, look out for well-drawn railer ROMANTIC RICHY, who lines up from T1 in the A9 graded race over the four-bend 500-metre trip. The Tony Taylor-trained September 2023 son of Ballyhimikin Jet has slipped through the grades in recent weeks and now looks very well in, down in A9 company.

In February, Richy was running well in A6 grade and even had a run out in an open race prior to that. Today, it's all eyes on the traps. It's imperative that Richy holds the rails, leads round, and kicks a couple clear down the back straight.

Kinder Surprize rates as the main danger from T6 and could be worth including in forecast bets. Smashngrabpunk (T2) is another who could get involved late on and enters calculations.

1 pt 16:16 Hove – Chisem Toby (T4) @ SP

The A11 graded race at 16:16 can go to the Ricky Holloway-trained youngster CHISEM TOBY, who runs from T4. In recent weeks, Toby has proved popular in the market, going off at 2/1, 5/4, Evens and 8/15 but each of those runs ended in defeat.

Today, on the downgrade to an A11 company for the first time, the July 2024 son of Scaglietti is likely to prove popular in the market again and has leading claims of recording his third victory over course and distance. The key is the break. Toby is a 30.60 type of performer on the bunny, a repeat of that would see him take this by two or three lengths.

Littlermate and kennelmate Chisem Henry rates as the main danger from T2 and could be worth including in forecast bets. Roanna Dixie (T6) will be flying home, and the wide seed is another who could challenge for second late on.

1 pt 17:12 Hove – Punkrock Perkele (T2) @ SP

The third and final selection from Hove this afternoon is PUNKROCK PERKELE, who lines up from T2 in the D4 graded race at 17:12 over the two-bend 285-metre trip. The Stuart Maplesden-trained railer is three from six in this grade and, with a level break and clear run, Punkrock Perkele can add to that impressive strike rate this afternoon.

As ever, the key will be the break and run into the first bend, pop out, clear Mind The Mouse (T1) at lid rise and its race on. Annadown Paddy is an interesting runner from T5. Four recent runs would have blown away the cobwebs following a spell off the track and the former Oxford-based performer should be spot on now and has leading claims in a competitive race.

Petite Ossie (T4) is another who made the move over from Oxford and is worth noting in the market on his sixth run at the south coast venue Hove.
