No FIFA World Cup feels like it’s in full swing until Brazil get their campaign going, and the Selecao begin their 2026 campaign on Saturday when they face Morocco in Group C at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (6pm local, 11pm BST, live on BBC One).

Carlo Ancelotti’s first game at a World Cup as a coach sees the five-time winners take on the reigning AFCON champions. I've picked out a 29/1 treble for my Brazil vs Morocco Bet Builder tips.

Brazil vs Morocco Odds

Half-Time/Full-Time: Brazil/Brazil

The only ever-presents in the World Cup finals, Brazil have a phenomenal record in tournament openers.

Despite losing their first match in both 1930 and 1934, they’ve been unbeaten in their opening game at every single staging since those embryonic editions.

With 17 wins and just three draws from the last 20 attempts, it’s fair to claim that nobody starts a World Cup quite like the Brazilians.

In Ancelotti, they have a head coach who is known for managing personalities well. And that is something which is key in getting any Brazil side to tick. A happy Selecao is a successful Selecao.

So while few are backing them to go all the way, they have to be considered a shoo-in to win Group C. Even against the reigning champions of Africa, they are rightly big favourites.

They should get off to a good start here, with an ageing but supremely talented squad likely to take it to the Moroccans from the off and then see out the result with a bit of style to spare.

Vinicius Junior to score and assist

At 25, Vinicius Junior is primed to have a big say in Brazil’s push to compete for a sixth world crown.

Like so many compatriots over the past century, much is expected of him. But his return of 41 goal involvements for club and country in 2025/26 suggests he is ready to have a big impact.

He has thrived on the bigger stages too, with 13 goals and assists in 14 Champions League fixtures for Real Madrid over the past season.

Morocco may have conceded only twice at the AFCON finals at the turn of the year – and one of them was effectively cancelled out by them being awarded the trophy months later – but I think they showed enough weaknesses to suggest Brazil can have success against them.

And Vini ought to be chief among those causing issues, so I can well see him getting on the scoresheet and teeing up another goal over the course of the 90 minutes.

Bruno Guimaraes to be carded (Sub Switch)

The first few days of any competition can often be littered with disciplinary concerns as referees, players and supporters alike get to grips with changing laws and questionable interpretations.

That makes a card bet a savvy choice, particularly in the first round of group fixtures. And in Brazil’s Bruno Guimaraes we have a player who is involved in many a poor challenge, both for and against.

Only Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest was fouled most often than the Newcastle United midfielder in the 2025/26 Premier League season, while he also committed 1.61 offences per game himself.

That was good for six yellow cards, and he was also cautioned three times in cup competitions.

So given his tendency to be in among the muck and nettles, there’s a good chance of him picking up a booking against a very competitive Morocco side.

Throw in Betfred’s new ‘Sub Switch’ feature, which means your bet continues to count for Guimaraes’ replacement if he is substituted, and the 9/4 about this coming off takes on even greater value.
