Lucky 15 Tips: Other-worldly youngster fancied at Beverley on Wednesday

The supposed 'good things' of ours at Leicester yesterday all ran as if they'd been attending every single one of Pep Guardiola's leaving parties, but we had a lovely, solitary 6/1 winner in the last leg that was well worth waiting for.

The 'Lucky' series of bets ensures we multiply the odds x3 for just one L15 winner so we're nicely covered - just a pity we couldn't find anything on the day to accompany it.

As for Wednesday let's head to beautiful Beverley - where we should all be, certainly if the weather is cracking the flags again. Ice cream, glass of something cooling, and a seven-race card that kicks in at 14:15. Cliff Lee has got just the one ride - intrigued? Please read on ...

14:45 - Out Of This World @ 11/4

This is that sole Cliff Lee booking that I mentioned - an unraced two-year-old by the mighty Space Blues.

James Tate trains Out Of This World, out of a mare by Derby winner Sir Percy, in this 7.5f novice. Not a scrap of form to go on but he's drawn closest to the fence and I'm loving the jockey booking.

Let's hope he's smart, and that it's a case of one ride one win for the brilliant Lee.

15:45 - Endless Whisper @ 10/3

The excellent Jo Mason rides this six-year-old Teofilo mare - still a maiden after seven starts but following up a career-best on seasonal reappearance last time at Donny. She failed by just 1.5l in a field of 14 at this 10f trip, in this same grade.

Jo's grandpa Mick Easterby is half of the training ticket and Endless Whisper is another housed in the one box - always a useful factor here on this tight right-handed circuit.

Lovely opportunity, and runs off the same mark (67) as last time, when apprentice-ridden. No disrespect, but getting seasoned professional Jo is of course a big step up.

16:15 - Hostelry @ 7/2

Some cracking old pros in this 8.5f Class 6 handicap, and I'm siding with one in the shape of nine-year-old mare Hostelry, trained by Ruth Carr about 40 miles north-west, in Stillington.

This splendid lady is 10-from-78 all told, and ran well here when last seen 23 days ago, beaten 1.75l in a field of 14. I rather think she actually won this very race last term, and can do so again. The outstanding Kaiya Fraser is in the saddle, and knows the horse well.

Has been handily dropped a pound from last time; with every little helping, and all that jazz.

16:50 - Bruce Banner @ 7/2

Right - I'm unashamedly jumping aboard the K Fraser bandwagon once again with a four-year-old Starspangledbanner gelding trained in Durham by Rebecca Menzies.

Bruce Banner has won three times from 17 racecourse appearances and tends to compete these days between around 12-16f.

This is a mile-and-a-half, and when last trying the trip he finished 1.5l adrift at Newcastle on the all-weather (12 March). He's had a couple of spins over timber, including one win, and 20 days ago when last seen ran well at Redcar over 14f beaten just 2.75l.

Consistent sort, and having dropped to a mark of 56 is beginning to look potentially well-treated.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £380 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
