PBKS vs MI Prediction: Punjab batters can show off their power

Punjab Kings are bidding to snap their losing streak when they host struggling Mumbai Indians in Thursday's IPL fixture in Dharamshala (15:00 BST, Sky Sports Cricket). Punjab made a flying start to the 2026 season but they have slipped down the standings after losing their last four matches.

Ante-post favourites Mumbai have never really got going this term and, having lost eight of their 11 games, their priority is to avoid finishing bottom of the 10-team table. Below are my PBKS vs MI predictions, alongside team news and match odds.

Punjab Kings have struggled to find the right balance to their bowling attack in recent games. Australian paceman Ben Dwarshuis conceded 51 runs in four overs on his debut against Delhi on Monday and star leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal did not bowl at all in that match.

Mumbai Indians hope their captain Hardik Pandya will be available after missing the last two matches due to back spasms.

PBKS to hit most sixes @ 4/5

Punjab Kings finished top of the IPL standings last season and they looked set for a repeat performance after winning their first six matches in 2026.

However, Shreyas Iyer's men are no longer even guaranteed a play-off place after a run of four straight defeats and they are desperate to stop the rot against Mumbai Indians on Thursday.

Punjab let Delhi Capitals off the hook in Monday's three-wicket defeat in Dharamshala. Delhi stumbled to 33-3 inside five overs but rallied to chase down a target of 211.

The Kings hit 13 sixes to the Capitals' 11 in that game and they should be backed to clear the ropes more often than Mumbai.

Priyansh Arya has hit 32 maximums from just 151 balls this season and his fellow opener Prabhsimran Singh struck seven sixes in last season's Dharamshala win over Lucknow.

Punjab have won their last three meetings with Mumbai, including last term's play-off Qualifier 2 in which they hit 13 sixes to the Indians' seven.

Corbin Bosch to be MI's top bowler @ 10/3

Not much has gone right for Mumbai this season but their decision to recall South Africa all-rounder Corbin Bosch looks like a smart move.

Bosch had an excellent 2026 T20 World Cup campaign, taking 11 wickets in seven games for the Proteas, and he dismissed Lucknow stars Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran in Mumbai's last home fixture.

The seamer gave defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru a massive scare in Sunday's two-wicket defeat in Raipur.

He finished with figures of 4-26 from four overs and his victims included English opener Jacob Bethell, RCB captain Rajat Patidar and big-hitting Aussie Tim David.

Jasprit Bumrah is a clear favourite to be Mumbai's top bowler on Thursday but the India icon has picked up only three wickets in 11 games this season so Bosch is an appealing alternative.
