Sydney vs Perth Prediction: Go unders at Allianz Stadium

Sydney FC can put pressure on second-placed Auckland FC, who host Central Coast Mariners the following day, by beating Perth Glory at Allianz Stadium on Saturday (10:35 BST, TNT Sports 8). The visitors are out of top-six contention, but if Western Sydney Wanderers win at Wellington Phoenix earlier in the day, they will need to avoid defeat against the Sky Blues to ensure they are not dragged into next weekend’s battle to avoid bottom place.

Alex Grant, Marcel Tisserand (both hamstring) and Joe Lolley (ankle) are sidelined for Sydney.

Patrick Kisnorbo's options are bolstered by the return to fitness of Victor Campuzano, though, while Corey Hollman has been included in the extended squad for Saturday.

As for Perth Glory, Tom Lawrence, Brandon O'Neill, Callum Timmins, Lachlan Wales, Joel Anasmo, Cameron Cook and Trent Ostler (all unspecified) are out injured, but Adam Griffiths has named Adam Taggart and Joshua Risdon, who both missed last Sunday's 3-1 victory over Macarthur, in his extended squad.

Sydney, who have won the last four head-to-heads on home soil, are 8/15 favourites on Saturday, implying a 65.2% probability of success, with Perth Glory 4/1, or a 20% chance, to triumph at Allianz Stadium for the first time since January 2022, and the draw offered at 16/5.

Sydney to Win Both Halves, which was a winning bet in last weekend's game 2-0 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers, has been boosted to 3/1 (was 5/2).

Total Goals - Under 2.5 @ 6/4

Six of Sydney's last eight league games have stayed under 2.5 goals, and alongside Melbourne City, they top the ALM's table for this statistic, with 58% of their matches featuring two or fewer goals.

Furthermore, only the Wanderers (67%) have seen a higher percentage of their home games go under 2.5 goals than the Sky Blues (55%).

There have been just 28 goals scored in Sydney's 11 ALM home contests this term; no ground has seen fewer goals struck this season than Allianz Stadium.

Player to Receive a Card - Paul Okon-Engstler (SYD) @ 18/5

Despite only five players having received more yellow cards in the ALM this season than Sydney midfielder Paul Okon-Engstler (six from 21 appearances), there are at least 10 players who are a shorter price to be booked in Saturday's game between the Sky Blues and Glory.

The 21-year-old avoided a caution in last weekend's Sydney derby, but had been booked in each of his previous three Sky Blues appearances.

Okon-Engstler is averaging 1.5 fouls per game in this season's ALM, and he could make a tactical foul or two on Saturday if his side are protecting a lead.
