Football Odds

Igor Thiago - Brentford vs Fulham

Before the season started, not many people would have guessed Igor Thiago would be Erling Haaland's biggest threat in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. The Brentford striker has scored 21 goals this term and is now just one goal behind Man City's superstar.

The Brazil international bagged a brace last time out in the 2-2 home draw against Everton, so he will be hoping for similar joy in Saturday's early kick-off against their west London neighbours Fulham.

Thiago has three goals across his past two home league appearances, so I think his scoring trend at the Gtech Community Stadium will continue this weekend.

Carlos Vicente - Hull vs Birmingham

Carlos Vicente was the star of the show as Birmingham City defeated play-off chasing Wrexham at St. Andrew's last Sunday. The Spaniard was the Blues' marquee signing in the winter transfer window, costing a reported £7m from Alaves.

The winger looks like he is finally up to speed with the Championship as he has now scored in successive matches, with the first coming at Ipswich Town on Easter Monday.

The Blues head to Hull City on Saturday, looking to spoil another club's quest for the play-offs. The Tigers are winless in three so they might be vulnerable to Vicente's scoring form as he is establishing himself as a key figure for Birmingham.

Lorent Tolaj - AFC Wimbledon vs Plymouth

After playing his part in last week's column, I am putting my faith in Lorent Tolaj again on Saturday. The Plymouth Argyle front man is on a two-game scoring streak in League 1 after netting against Barnsley and Exeter City.

The Swiss attacker now has 16 goals for the campaign and only three players have scored more than him in the third tier. Plymouth travel to struggling AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, with the Dons having lost five consecutive matches.

Tolaj was on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture, so I believe he can cause Wimbledon problems again.
