Southampton vs Blackburn Prediction: Saints to make it 18 unbeaten

Southampton are ridiculous right now. 17 games unbeaten, five wins in a row in the Championship and with an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City to come, this could be a remarkable end to the season. 

They will hope to get another three points as they welcome Blackburn Rovers to St Mary’s (20:00 BST). Below you can find my Southampton vs Blackburn predictions.

Tonda Eckert has this Southampton squad eating out of the palm of his hand right now, and it feels as though the entire squad is performing right now. He may choose to pick Cyle Larin ahead of Ross Stewart up front, while Shea Charles is in line to feature in midfield. 

Meanwhile, Michael O'Neill may be forced to change up his Blackburn side, with a game against Coventry coming his way on Friday night.  Yuki Ohashi has played three 90 minutes in succession without a goal, so Mathias Jorgensen may be chosen to lead the line.

Two Price Boosts are getting my backing for this Tuesday night clash, based on the fact that I think Saints are obvious favourites, but a little too short to back as a single. Southampton have won five in a row and although Blackburn are on an unbeaten run of their own, I do think this will be a step too far for Rovers. 

The hosts should dominate this one and they have averaged 5.56 corners per game in comparison to Blackburn’s 5.38 this season - so I would again expect the hosts to edge the corner count. Given how free-flowing the hosts have been, I’d also predict Blackburn to commit more fouls, and therefore get more cards from the referee. An interesting Price Boost to get us up and running. 

Price Boost - Leo Scienza to score first @ 7/1

This one is far more straightforward. Leo Scienza is one of the best wingers in the league, and he’s registered seven goals and eight assists so far this season. If there’s a Price Boost on offer for him to score first, I’m going to take it.

He recently missed three games with a muscle strain but made a goalscoring return against Derby County and I’d back him to find the net again here. 7/1 on him to do so first is a good price.
