Meanwhile, the visitors toil in midtable while casting a cautious eye downwards. Just three points separate the 12th-placed side and the relegation zone.

Harry Kane is out with a minor calf issue which is honestly FINE because I like rewriting my preview when breaking news puts the kibosh on 90% of what I’d written. Get well soon though, Hazza.

Totemic goalkeeper Manuel Neuer remains sidelined with a calf issue, though Bayern have looked no worse for having Jonas Urbig step into the breach. 

Left back Alphonso Davies is another big-name absentee for Vincent Kompany. The Canada international is out with a hamstring fibre tear.

Forward Robin Hack is sidelined for the visitors with an adductor problem. Tim Kleindienst (knee) and Yannik Engelhardt (suspended) also miss out.

Even shorn of the former Spurs man up top, Kompany’s conglomerate have too much about them to be unduly troubled by a team more concerned with a trip down to Bundesliga 2 than rattling the champions-elect.

Luis Diaz is the league’s second-top scorer. If you remove Kane’s 30 goals from the equation, Bayern have still scored seven more than their nearest rivals; Borussia Dortmund. Life without Kane isn’t ideal, but the Undertaker learned to deal with it and I’m sure Bayern will too.

The German giants can be a bit crash-bang-wallop this season. Their last five games have featured a 2-2 draw and a brace of 3-2 victories. But the Bavarian bossmen stuck three past this lot without reply in the corresponding fixture.

With a slight need for caution necessitated by the lack of their attacking talisman, I expect a professional job and a clean sheet from Bayern Munich.
