14:40 - Wodhooh @ 8/11

Hugely-talented six-year-old daughter of a French Derby winner, nine-from-14 all told, and got to within 2.75l of Tuesday's Champion Hurdle heroine Lossiemouth at Aintree last April.

Wodhooh won the Martin Pipe at last year's gathering and is undoubtedly one of Gordon Elliott's stable stars. She's got a nice cushion today on official marks and I really do think it's hers to lose.

Could be plenty of improvement to come at her age over the next couple of seasons and she's already super-smart. Grade 1 glory awaits.

15:20 - Teahupoo @ 3/1

Another star turn from the Elliott yard; a nine-year-old gelded son of Masked Marvel, with 14 wins from 21 races over hurdles.

Teahupoo warmed up for this with a comfortable win against a key rival today, Bob Olinger, at Leopardstown in late December. He's been saved for this since and goes very well here, having won it and finished second twice in the last three years.

Davy Russell used to get a great tune out of this fella and Jack Kennedy has struck up a lovely relationship with him too - and is on board today. Seems to go on most ground and travels, quickens, stays. An admirable, evergreen champion.

16:00 - Fact To File @ 8/11

Willie Mullins/JP McManus chaser who was in imperious order when last sighted in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown. I've previewed this Ryanair Chase in an accompanying piece and if you'd care to take a closer look at my selection Fact To File kindly click HERE.

16:40 - C'Est Different @ 13/2

Big handicap hurdle final, over 3m.

Our selection is C'Est Different, a nicely-weighted six-year-old gelding trained by Sam Thomas in South Glamorgan, owned by Walters Plant Hire (Dai Walters), and with regular pilot Dylan Johnston doing the steering.

This hugely-progressive type has won his last four over the past 13 months, shooting up 39lb in the handicap as a consequence. He's up 10lb alone for his last win, 57 days ago at Newbury, at around this trip. It's a stiff task for sure he now faces, but we've yet to get to the bottom of him and if he's a bit more left up his sleeve he should be right in the thick of it.

The ground was riding on the slightly quick side on Wednesday and if Mother Nature doesn't intervene I'd like to think they'll sort some irrigation out, which would benefit most of these winter game stars including this one, who has excelled on good-to-soft but might be a little inconvenienced on faster - as would many to be fair.

Funnily enough, front-runners and prominent types had a field day on Wednesday and C'Est Different is another who likes to be bang there throughout.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £157 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
