Kilmarnock vs Celtic Prediction: Go big on goals and cards in latest Celtic win

After the dramatic midweek round of Scottish Premiership fixtures saw Celtic’s title hopes boosted, the champions now head to Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park on Sunday with ground certain to be made up (14:00 GMT).
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury-time winner against Livingston set them up for a day on which Rangers face Hearts, meaning the Bhoys will definitely gain on somebody. My Kilmarnock vs Celtic predictions follow, along with full team news and match odds from Betfred.

Team News
Killie may have some renewed confidence after holding off St Mirren to record a crucial 4-3 victory on Wednesday which moved them to within three points of both the Buddies and Dundee in the battle at the bottom.
They will also see full-back Dominic Thompson return after he completed his one-game suspension for the early red card he was shown in the 5-1 loss to Rangers.
Neil McCann is unlikely to make too many unforced changes to the side that came from behind to claim that huge win last time out, with Kyle Magennis, Matty Kennedy and Djenairo Daniels all injured.
Arne Engels limped out of Celtic’s win over Livingston so he is a doubt for this one, meaning Reo Hatate or match-winner Oxlade-Chamberlain could step in.
Martin O’Neill is still without Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Callum Osmand and Alistair Johnson.
Kilmarnock vs Celtic Predicted Lineups

- Celtic: Schmeichel; Araujo, Trusty, Scales, Saracchi; Hatate, McGregor, Nygren; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cvancara, Maeda
Celtic are the 4/11 favourites, as many would expect. That price implies a 73.3% probability of the champions collecting three valuable points.
The hosts are 13/2, with the draw listed at 4/1.
It’s 8/11 for Both Teams to Score, while Celtic are 11/8 to Win to Nil.

Celtic & Both Teams to Score @ 13/8
A review of Celtic’s recent forms depends almost entirely on your personal disposition.
They’re either a bad team getting away with it, or they’re showing champion form to keep getting wins whatever their performance level.
In the Scottish Cup against Dundee and then again on Wednesday versus Livingston, the Bhoys were set for disappointment until very late in the day. Yet in both scenarios they got the win they needed.
Before those fixtures, they had tightened up superbly under O’Neill. But they have showed they are vulnerable more recently.
And when you look at how free-flowing Kilmarnock games have been since McCann really got hold of them, you have got to believe there will be goals in this one.
It’s hard to back against the champs. Particularly given the fact Killie have conceded 12 in four games. But five of those came when down to 10 for the majority of the match at Ibrox.
Still, I fancy Celtic to win a rollercoaster fixture with both teams netting.

60-75 Booking Points @ 13/5
It’s that time of the season.
Teams near the bottom are scratching and clawing for any kind of foothold.
Those challenging for the title at the top are desperate not to give up any ground.
With that in mind, there should be some meaty challenges coming in from both sides, and I fancy a card-heavy fixture.
The 60-75 point bracket allows for six or seven bookings, or four/five yellows plus a red. At 13/5, that’s the value pick in this market at an implied probability of 27.8%.
