Hearts continue their Scottish Premiership title charge with a trip to St Mirren on Tuesday (20:00 GMT, Sky Sports Football). The Jam Tarts have won four of their last five league matches heading into this contest.

The hosts are winless in seven league appearances as they prepare to take on the league leaders. Read on for my St Mirren vs Hearts predictions, including the latest match odds and team news.

Team News

Jonah Ayunga (tendon), Keanu Baccus (hamstring) and Mark O'Hara (ankle) are missing for St Mirren due to injury, while Jake Young is suspended following his red card against Dundee on Saturday.

Boss Stephen Robinson may look to refrain from making too many changes after picking up two draws in as many games. Young will need to be replaced, so Mikael Mandron may come into the side on Tuesday.

Football Odds

Hearts remain without top scorer Lawrence Shankland owing to a hamstring issue, while Calem Nieuwenhof, Cameron Devlin, Finlay Pollock (all also hamstring) and Stephen Kingsley (groin) are also receiving treatment and unavailable for this game.

Pierre Landry Kabore has been doing an impressive job of filling in for Shankland up top, and he comes into this game off the back of a brace against Dundee United.

Marc Leonard has impressed on his first two starts for the club since joining on loan from Birmingham City, and he is set to continue in the middle of the park.

St Mirren vs Hearts Predicted Lineups

  • St Mirren: George; Sobowale, Fraser, King, Freckleton, Tanser; Gogic, Phillips; Idowu, Etete, Mandron
  • Hearts: Schwolow; Altena, Halkett, Findlay, Milne; McEntee, Leonard, Magnusson, Kyziridis; Braga, Kabore

Today's Football Fixtures

St Mirren vs Hearts Odds

St Mirren are 7/2 to end their seven-game unbeaten run in the league. After drawing their last two matches, the stalemate may appeal at 12/5. This was also the outcome when the teams met here earlier in the campaign.

Hearts are 5/6 (implied probability of 54.5%) to collect the three points, like they did against the hosts at Tyncastle on January 14.

Kabore is the joint-favourite to score anytime at 6/4 as he looks to strike for the second successive fixture.

St Mirren vs Hearts Stats

  • Hearts have won 4 of their last 5 league games
  • This includes a victory over St Mirren
  • Hearts have scored twice in both meetings with St Mirren this season

To Win To Nil - Hearts @ 7/4

After salvaging a point at home to Celtic over a week ago, Derek McInnes' side followed up that valuable draw with three points at Dundee United and they remain six points clear at the summit.

They head to St Mirren having only recently played Robinson's men, having beaten them 2-0 at Tynecastle last month. The Buddies were able to pinch a point off the Jambos when they met at the SMISA Stadium back in October, but their recent form does not suggest that they will be in a position to dent the league leaders' title charge.

Hearts' two defeats in the top flight this season have come on their travels but they have won their last two away trips. McInnes' team are on a run of four wins from five and despite Shankland's injury, other members of the squad are stepping up to keep the fairytale alive.

I think they have more than enough quality to defeat St Mirren on Tuesday. I think they are good value to win to nil as each of their last four victories have been aided by a clean sheet.

Away Team Total Goals - Over 1.5 @ 1/1

Another market offering good value in this clash is the away team total goals market. Hearts are 1/1 to score at least twice in the game, something which they have accomplished twice against St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership this campaign.

On top of this, the Jambos have found the net two or more times in each of their past three appearances in the top flight heading into this contest. With the quality that the visitors have in attack, and the recent struggles of the hosts, there should be a few goals on offer to Hearts here.
