Team News

Panathinaikos boss Rafa Benitez is going to miss a handful of players on Thursday. Filip Djuricic (unspecified), Cyriel Dessers (muscle) and Karol Swiderski (suspension), who all used to play in Serie A, are unavailable for this clash.

With the latter out, Andrews Tetteh should lead the line for the hosts, while support will come from ex-Burnley man Anass Zaroury - who has bagged four goals in this competition so far.

Davide Calabria missed his side's last match against Atromitos due to illness and he is considered a doubt for this one, as is Pedro Chirivella, who picked up a calf issue in that goalless draw.

Football Odds

Roma have been dealt a blow in midfield as Manu Kone picked up an injury in Sunday's draw with AC Milan and is set for a few weeks on the sidelines.

Paulo Dybala didn't come through that game unscathed, either, as he left the match with a knock. Evan Ferguson has been left out of the squad for Thursday, so the Argentine is likely fit to play.

Panathinaikos vs Roma Predicted Lineups

  • Panathinaikos: Lafont; Calabria, Ingason, Touba, Kyriakopoulos; Sanches, Gnezda Cerin; Pellistri, Bakasetas, Zaroury; Tetteh
  • Roma: Svilar; Mancini, Ziolkowski, Ghilardi; Celik, Cristante, Pisilli, Tsimikas; Soule, Pellegrini; Ferguson

Today's Football Fixtures

Panathinaikos vs Roma Odds

Panathinaikos have won three of their seven league phase matches so far and they are 7/2 to prevail here.

Roma have won each of their past four games in this competition and they are 4/5 (implied probability of 55.6%) to collect the three points.

The hosts' previous two appearances in Europe have ended in a stalemate, with a draw priced at 13/5.

Zaroury is 9/2 to claim his fifth goal of the league phase.

Panathinaikos vs Roma Stats

  • 5 of Panathinaikos' 7 UEL games have seen both teams score
  • Anass Zaroury (PAO) has scored 4 goals in the league phase

Both Teams To Score - Yes @ 10/11

I think this is a tough game to call because both teams have performed well over the last seven rounds. The onus will be on Roma here because they are trying to secure a direct ticket to the last 16 and to avoid a play-off tie to get to that stage.

Both teams have been good for scoring goals during the league phase - Panathinaikos have 10 while Roma have 12. I think BTTS - Yes is an attractive bet here because it has landed in five of the hosts' last seven appearances in this competition, including two of their three home fixtures.

For Roma, both sides have found the net in three of their league phase matches, including one of their three away trips which came against Nice on matchday one.

Anytime Goalscorer - Anass Zaroury @ 9/2

Zaroury played a key role in helping Burnley win the Championship title in 2022/23 to gain promotion back to the Premier League but he was not favoured by the Clarets once they returned to the top flight.

After a loan spell at Hull City, he transferred to Lens, from whom he is on loan to Panathinaikos this season, and the Greek side have profited. He has been excellent in the Europa League - contributing four goals and one assist in seven appearances.

Only Ludogorets' Petar Stanic (six) has scored more goals than the winger so far. I think 9/2 is good value to find the net here after scoring last week's equalising goal at Ferencvaros.

He was also on the scoresheet in Panathinaikos' last home game - a 3-0 league win over Panserraikos on January 11. The wide man scored from the penalty spot, and this aspect enhances his appeal in the goalscorer market.
