Team News
Cameron Devlin, Oisin McEntee, Calem Nieuwenhof, Finlay Pollock, Ageu, Stephen Kingsley and Beni Baningime are all set to miss this crunch clash for Hearts.
Captain Lawwrence Shankland, the division's top scorer with 11 goals, is ruled out with a hamstring injury that is set to keep him out until March. As such, Claudio Braga and Pierre Landry Kabore will be tasked with bringing the attacking impetus in the final third.
Marcelo Saracchi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmond (all hamstring), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Achilles) and Jota (knee) are all in the treatment room for Celtic.
Julian Araujo may come back into the side at right-back having missed the midweek draw with Bologna in the Uefa Europa League.
Hearts vs Celtic Predicted Lineups
- Hearts: Schwolow; Steinwender, Halkett, Findlay, Milne; Altena, Spittal, Magnusson, Kyziridis; Braga, Kabore
- Celtic: Schmeichel; Araujo, Trusty, Scales, Tierney; Engels, McGregor; Hyun-Jun, Hatate, Tounekti; Maeda
Hearts have won eight of their 11 home games in the league this season and they are 21/20 (implied probability of 48.8%) to come out on top.
The other three results at Tynecastle have been draws, with the stalemate marketed at 12/5.
Celtic are 5/4 to collect the three points, which they have managed in two of their previous three away trips in the Scottish Premiership.
Both teams have scored in the previous two league meetings this season and BTTS - Yes is marketed at 8/13.
Hearts vs Celtic Stats
- Hearts have won both meetings with Celtic this season
- The hosts are unbeaten at home in the league
- The previous meeting at Tynecastle saw over 3.5 goals
Double Chance & BTTS - Hearts or Draw & Yes @ 7/5
Shankland's injury is a big blow to Hearts but they still have a strong group of players who have been playing their roles to perfection so far this season. The Jam Tarts know that this a huge opportunity to strengthen their title charge, as they would move nine points clear of Celtic with a victory.
Martin O'Neill is back in charge of the Hoops for the second time this season and the Bhoys have played at their best with him in the dugout. However, Celtic have been beaten by Hearts in the two league meetings already in 2025/26, with a 3-1 defeat inflicted upon them here in October.
Celtic have won two league games on the spin since O'Neill returned, so they will be in much better condition for this top-of-the-table clash than they would have been a few weeks ago, but it still may not be enough.
Hearts are yet to taste defeat at Tynecastle in the league and I do see this record staying intact. However, Celtic may be good for a point if they are at their best, having drawn at Bologna in midweek despite holding a two-goal lead in Italy.
I've boosted the selection with BTTS - Yes, which has struck in both league meetings between these sides this term.

Total Goals - Over 3.5 @ 2/1
With a lot at stake here, I think both sets of attackers will be fired up for the occasion and I do believe this can lead to a flurry of goals in Edinburgh. There were four goals when the sides last met here in October as Hearts ran out as 3-1 victors, while a further two of the Jambos' home games have seen at least four goals scored.
Additionally, three of Celtic's past four competitive fixtures has seen over 3.5 goals land, with the latest being their trip to Bologna on Thursday.
