Manchester City vs Wolves Prediction: City’s wait for a clean sheet to continue

Manchester City will look to avoid losing a third consecutive match in all competitions when they host Wolves at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00 GMT). The Citizens are also winless in their past four outings in the top flight.

Man City remain without the services of Josko Gvardiol (tibial fracture), John Stones (thigh), Mateo Kovacic (ankle), Ruben Dias, Oscar Bobb (both hamstring), Nico Gonzalez (knock) and Savinho (unspecified) due to injury.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed Matheus Nunes is still out with a virus.

Marc Guehi could be set to make his debut in defence after joining the club from Crystal Palace. Bernardo Silva will be replenished after he missed the Uefa Champions League defeat at Bodo/Glimt through suspension.

Wolves' Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Toti Gomes (hamstring) and Leon Chiwome (knee) are out of action for this match, while Tawanda Chirewa (illness) is a doubt to make the trip to Manchester.

Fer Lopez is also set to miss out as he's reportedly in talks over a move to Celta Vigo in Spain.

Leeds United have reportedly put in a bid for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, while Crystal Palace are also keeping tabs on the Norwegian in case Jean-Philippe Mateta departs the Eagles this window.

The Old Gold are 12/1 to pull off the upset.

Erling Haaland is 7/4 to open the scoring, like he did at Molineux back in August.

A disappointing start to 2026 has seen Man City fail to win a Premier League match and they are now seven points behind Arsenal in the title race. Guardiola and his players cannot afford to fall further behind the Gunners, and so I sense there will be a determination to deliver a response at home against Wolves.

Rob Edwards looks like he is turning a corner with the Old Gold and while they may be four matches unbeaten in the top flight, a trip to the Etihad is still as tough as it gets.

City stars Haaland and Phil Foden have come under fire for their performances in recent weeks, so I reckon the pair will be fired up to deliver strong performances on Saturday.

Man City have won eight of their previous 10 home games in the top flight, so this record does make me believe they will win. However, I do think their defensive issues are set to continue and I do see Wolves getting on the scoresheet here.

Yerson Mosquera is the most-booked player for Wolves in the Premier League this season with seven yellow cards. The Colombian defender has picked up two of them in the past two weeks against Everton and Newcastle United.

He has been featuring on the right side of a back three, so there is a good chance that he will be drawn into battles with City's tricky winger Jeremy Doku.

Doku has been fouled 35 times in the Premier League this season and he is winning on average 2.69 per game - which does not bode well for the ill-disciplined Mosquera.
