French Lotto Big Winner: Ooh La La – Lucky Dip lands Punter £60k from French Flutter

A lady from Yorkshire is celebrating winning £60,000 on the French Lottery at Betfred, all for a £2 bet – on a Lucky Dip!

Sue plays her regular numbers on the game, including birthdays and often chances her arm with a couple of quid on a lucky dip. She struck it lucky on Saturdays draw from £2 stake on four numbers at 30,000/1 when each of 9, 29, 30 & 31 were drawn out.

The Wakefield resident couldn’t believe her numbers had come good, especially when she had seen what the lucky dip had generated.

She said “I played my regular numbers, and had a usual lucky dip, but I had a few quid left in my account. So, I said to my sister, I’m going to have another lucky dip for the week as we were going away.

"Originally, I wish I hadn’t bothered as the numbers were all close together. I told her, ‘I’ve got no chance of winning with those numbers!’

“My sister was checking the result and said to me, what were those numbers again? She thought they were familiar. I couldn’t believe it, we were jumping up and down in the apartment, I’m over the moon.

“We’re out in Tenerife right now actually so can celebrate in the sunshine. It’s gorgeous - better than freezing back at home.

“We flew out on New Year’s Eve so I had put my numbers on early and played for the whole week.

“I sometimes play 49’s too, but there is something about the French lottery. Ever since I started playing it, I said one day that I’m going to win big.

“We love the numbers games, aiming for big wins from small stakes.

“My sister also plays. She won on the 49’s recently from a free £5 bet that she played also with a lucky dip."

Asked about what the winnings would be spent on, Sue said:

“When my mum and then dad were taken ill, they came to live with us, and we made some alterations to the house. Sadly, they have both passed away so and now this money will go towards making renovations in out house, with new windows, a kitchen and new layout top of the list.”
