Lucky 15 Tips: Cash to be king at Huntingdon

Horse racing in Britain and Ireland is about to go on its Christmas break but we have four meetings to look forward to in Britain on Monday first. The day’s action is equally split between National Hunt and all-weather racing, with Huntingdon and Musselburgh hosting the jumping cards, while Lingfield and Wolverhampton provide the Flat entertainment.
We’ve selected four strong fancies across the afternoon and they can be combined to form a Lucky 15. They include a lightly raced Nicky Richards runner and a potentially progressive representative of Henry Daly’s yard.

12:38 Musselburgh – Abbey Scope @ 9/4
Nicky Richards is operating at a strike-rate of 25 per cent in the last fortnight and he runs ABBEY SCOPE in Musselburgh’s opening maiden hurdle. The son of Telescope made his debut in a Kelso bumper back in April and managed to win comfortably.
Briefly outpaced three furlongs out, he recovered quickly and ended up winning with plenty in hand. Chanonry Point was beaten by more than 20 lengths back in third and she has boosted the form by winning over hurdles since.
Making his first start over hurdles at Market Rasen last month, he ran well for a long way before running out of steam and should improve for the outing. This isn’t the deepest of maiden hurdles and a big run is anticipated with that in mind.
12:50 Huntingdon – Petty Cash @ 10/3
PETTY CASH is lightly raced over fences and he managed to win a couple of times over hurdles with the most recent of those successes coming off a 4lb lower mark back in 2022.
A winner over fences on his penultimate start, he stayed on well to score by a length-and-a-quarter at Chepstow and that was just his fourth start over the larger obstacles.
He kept on well to finish second in a Class 3 event over shorter last time out and the return to a longer trip is likely to suit.
There could well be more to come from him in this sphere and this looks like a good opportunity to return to winning ways.
13:50 Huntingdon – Ebselysees @ 6/1
This low grade handicap has attracted a field of 13, many of which are out of form, but Noel Williams’ EBSELYSEES produced a solid display to finish second last time out. All of her best efforts have come here at Huntingdon and that includes a novice hurdle victory.
Jumping to her right on occasion that day, she managed to get the better of Dan Skelton’s Lady Jago, who has since won over fences.
The handicapper has raised her 1lb for finishing second to a Nicky Henderson runner here over further last time and although the drop back in trip isn’t guaranteed to suit, she may well get away with it in this company.
14:50 Huntingdon – Electric Eddy @ 10/3
Nigel & Willy Twiston-Davies are 0/6 at Huntingdon since operating under a joint license but ELECTRIC EDDY has every chance of getting them up and running here.
The seven-year-old made his chasing debut at Hereford last month and ran a nice race to finish second.
He got a little outpaced before keeping on again that day and perhaps a step up in trip will help at some point but he’s sharp enough to run a big race here.
