Porto vs Malmo FF Prediction: Another clean sheet for the hosts

Porto will look to continue their good form in the Uefa Europa League when they host Malmo FF at Estadio do Dragao on Thursday (20:00 GMT, TNT Sports 5). The Portuguese outfit have won three of their five fixtures so far.
The visitors have managed just one point in this competition so far. My Porto vs Malmo FF predictions can be found below, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Porto have been dealt a crushing blow as Luuk de Jong has been ruled out for the rest of the season because of a contusion in his knee. The forward joins another long-term absentee, Nehuen Perez, in the treatment room, but he was not registered for the Europa League squad.
William Gomes has two goals in this competition in 2025/26 but he has not started since matchday two, but with two goals in his last three appearances heading into Thursday, the Brazilian could be in contention for a recall.
Arnor Sigurdsson remains sidelined for Malmo with a knee injury, while Otto Rosengren has not been seen since a half-time substitution against GAIS on November 9.
With just two goals in the Europa League so far, Malmo will be looking for more inspiration from attackers Daniel Gudjohnsen and Sead Haksabanovic.
Porto vs Malmo FF Predicted Lineups
- Porto: D Costa; Fernandes, Bednarek, Kiwior, Zaidu; Eustaquio, Rosario, Mora; Gomes, Aghehowa, Sainz
- Malmo FF: Ellborg; Stryger, Jansson, Djuric, Busanello; Karlsson, Busuladzic, Skogmar; Ekong, Haksabanovic, Gudjohnsen
Porto have won three of their five matches in the league phase to date and they are 1/5 to come out on top here. They have kept clean sheets in two of them and backing them to win to nil generates a 4/6 (60% implied probability) price.
The draw is on offer at 5/1, which is the only positive result Malmo have had so far in this competition, which came at home against Dinamo Zagreb.
The visitors are 14/1 to pull off an upset on Friday.
With Malmo failing to score in three of their league phase appearances, Porto to keep a clean sheet is appealing at 3/5.
Utrecht vs Nottingham Forest Stats
- Forest have won two of their last three Europa League games
- Forest have recorded three clean sheets in a row in the UEL
To Win To Nil - Porto @ 4/6
Malmo's European campaign has been a disaster so far and it is very nearly coming to an end. They will praying for some kind of miracle in Porto but I can't see them laying a glove on the Potuguese outfit, who have one of the best defensive records on the continent.
They have conceded just four goals in this competition so far, and have kept clean sheets in two of them, and both were victories (Red Bull Salzburg (A) and Nice (H)). With Malmo only managing two goals in five matches so far, it is hard to see them penetrating Porto's back line, which has kept 14 clean sheets across all competitions this campaign.
Additionally, the Swedish visitors have suffered three defeats in the league phase without scoring and I am expecting this trend to continue on Thursday night.

Anytime Goalscorer - Samu Aghehowa @ 7/10
Porto forward Samu Aghehowa will be looking to profit against Malmo given how low on confidence they are expected to be. The attacker has only the one goal in the Europa League so far, which came from the penalty spot against Nice last time out, so he will be eager to add to his tally against a defence that is averaging two goals conceded per game in this competition.
The Spanish striker has also bagged seven goals in 12 Primeira Liga appearances this term, with the latest coming on Sunday at Tondela, so he should be coming into this clash with confidence. Therefore, I am backing him to get on the scoresheet here to help take his team one step closer to the knockout stage.
