I’m back, baby. I was absolutely cooking last weekend as I landed four correct scores and two further correct results to secure 14 points and drag myself up the Championship Predictions table. It’s been a long time coming, but I’m feeling good and ready to close the gap further on Conor and Nick.

Read on for my Championship Predictions for Gameweek 19.

Hull City 2-3 Middlesbrough @ 22/1

Spicy one on Friday night. As you can see this week, I’ve gone for a lot of goals in a bid to keep my good run going. Boro won their first game under Kim Hellberg and look to be an exciting side this season - currently sitting second. Hull, meanwhile, love goals at both ends, having conceded 30 and scored 30 so far - beating Stoke away last time out. I think this should be a belting game - but I’ll just back Boro.

Nick: 2-2

Conor: 2-2

Watford 2-1 Norwich @ 7/1

How convinced am I that Norwich are back on track, having picked up their first home win of the season? Not very. An away trip to Watford looks tough, even though the Hornets lost at Birmingham on Monday night. Both teams have scored in the last five Watford games, so let’s go for a 2-1, and give the struggling Canaries a goal.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 3-1

Derby 2-1 Leicester @ 17/2

Leicester aren’t very good right now, are they? Just seven points above the drop zone, having lost their last two games and with a potential points deduction on the cards, relegation isn’t off the cards. Derby have won six of their last eight, or one of their last three, with that loss at Boro slightly damaging to confidence. Still, John Eustace is a great manager, and they can win this one, with BTTS coming in during six league games.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 1-1

Charlton 1-0 Portsmouth @ 11/2

Portsmouth are in deep doodoo. Seventeen points from 18 games has left them in the bottom three, and goalscoring is a real issue. They’ve only scored 15 goals in 18, with only a miserable Sheffield Wednesday outfit scoring fewer (14). Charlton have lost four in a row but should have enough to grind out three points that will pile the pressure on Pompey.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-1

QPR 1-1 West Brom @ 5/1

Mid-table duo. Draw. Losing at Norwich isn’t ideal for QPR, and they need to respond, while a quartet of changes turned a 2-0 deficit against Swansea into a 3-2 win for Ryan Mason. He needed that, but might have to settle for a point here.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 1-2

Blackburn 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday @ 7/1

Backing Sheffield Wednesday to lose isn’t the biggest surprise, and Blackburn have been alright this season. They will be frustrated to have conceded late to Ipswich in midweek to draw 1-1, but should have enough to beat Wednesday, who looked good against PNE and probably should have won before conceding late once more.

Nick: 3-1

Conor: 2-0

Bristol City 1-2 Millwall @ 11/1

Millwall are flying in third. This time, a late winner over Southampton gave them a 3-2 success. Can they bounce back from that defeat at Pompey with three wins in a row? I’m going to say yes, with Bristol City unconvincing and unpredictable week to week.

Nick: 1-1

Conor: 0-1

Swansea 0-1 Oxford @ 9/1

Gary Rowett masterclass. Swansea have lost five in a row and are in relegation danger. While I expect Vitor Matos to have an impact at some point, I don’t like the look of this fixture from their point of view. Oxford haven’t lost in three, drawing with Boro and Norwich before beating Ipswich at home, and if they can land a win in this relegation six-pointer, survival will be well on the cards. A clean sheet would massively help their cause.

Nick: 2-1

Conor: 1-2

Swansea City vs Oxford United - Correct Score
Oxford United 0-1

Preston 1-3 Wrexham @ 25/1

I called Preston ‘average’ on the Sportsman Untitled earlier in the week, so I’m going to have to back them to lose here. Wrexham are unbeaten in eight, and now Kieffer Moore is back. Wrexham won 3-2 here in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season, and I can see a similar game unfolding here. Big price on this.

Nick: 1-2

Conor: 1-2

Ipswich 2-3 Coventry @ 22/1

Arguably the game of the weekend. League leaders Coventry head to pre-season title favourites Ipswich Town with a 10-point lead at the top of the table, having won their last five on the spin. It’s all going right for Frank Lampard right now, and they racked up an incredible 50 goals in just 18 outings against Charlton last time out.

Ipswich drew in midweek at Blackburn, but they’ve got a lot of talent. I’m backing the Sky Blues to continue their winning streak and nick a late winner in an enthralling game.

Nick: 2-2

Conor: 1-2

Sheffield United 2-0 Stoke @ 17/2

All of a sudden, Sheffield United have won three games in a row and got themselves out of the bottom three. They beat Leicester 3-2 away from home at the weekend, Gustavo Hamer is back, and Callum O’Hare is on fire.

Stoke have now lost three of their last four games, so I will back them to fall to another defeat at Bramall Lane.

Nick: 2-0

Conor: 1-1

Southampton 4-3 Birmingham @ 100/1

Have I lost the plot with this final prediction? I just think Southampton vs Birmingham promises a lot of goals. Birmingham have a poor away record, having picked up just eight points from nine games on the road, and I think they will fall to another defeat here. However, they’ve got plenty of attacking talent - as have Southampton - with Tonda Eckert's team flying going forward lately. Let’s back a high-scoring encounter at St Mary’s.

Nick: 2-3

Conor: 2-1

Southampton vs Birmingham City - Correct Score
Southampton 4-3
