Both Teams To Score - Yes
Both teams have scored in six of the last seven Premier League head-to-heads at St. James', including the last three.
Last season's corresponding fixture, in September 2024, finished 1-1 as Anthony Gordon's second-half spot-kick cancelled out Josko Gvardiol's first-half opener.
The Magpies have seen both teams score in 55% (six) of their 11 league games this season, rising slightly to 60% (3/5) at home.
For City, BTTS-Yes has struck in just 36% (four) of their 11, but away from home, it's 40% (2/5).
Both teams have scored in Newcastle's last four league games, and I struggle to see a scenario where both sides don't get on the scoresheet this weekend.
Newcastle vs Manchester City Odds
Jeremy Doku (MCI) 1+ Shots on Target
Jeremy Doku has been on fire the last couple of weeks.
The 23-year-old signed off in style for Man City, scoring a beautiful third for the Citizens in their 3-0 victory over reigning Premier League champions Liverpool on November 9, having seen two earlier efforts saved by Reds goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Doku then departed for international duty with Belgium, and after failing to get on the scoresheet in a 1-1 draw in Kazakhstan on November 15, he bagged a brace in the Red Devils' 7-0 win against Liechtenstein three days later.
He should be full of confidence for this trip to Tyneside, so a shot on target is certainly within his reach.
Newcastle vs Manchester City Bet Builder Stats
- Both teams have scored in six of the last seven PL H2Hs on Tyneside
- Doku (MCI) has scored three goals in his last three apps for club and country (five shots on target)
- Woltemade (NEW) scored three times across two GER internationals this month
- Trippier (NEW) has committed 2+ fouls in three of his last four PL games
Nick Woltemade (NEW) 1+ Shots on Target
Likewise, Newcastle striker Nick Woltemade has been in fine form for club and country this season.
The 23-year-old has scored six goals in 12 games for the Magpies, including four in eight Premier League appearances.
One goal in his last six matches for the Toon is a slight concern, but he boosted his confidence levels during the international break, scoring twice in Germany's 2-0 win against Luxembourg on November 14 and notching once in their 6-0 thrashing of Slovakia three days later.
Woltemade's height could pose a few problems for City on Saturday, and if he doesn't score, I at least fancy him to test City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma between the sticks.
Kieran Trippier (NEW) 2+ Fouls
Newcastle right-back Kieran Trippier is likely to have a tough night on Saturday.
The 35-year-old could be tasked with marking Doku, who is averaging 1.6 fouls won per game in the Premier League this season. Doku was fouled four times in City's last game against Liverpool, who saw their right-back, Conor Bradley, go into the book for an unfair challenge on the Belgian.
Trippier, who made three fouls in last season's corresponding fixture at St. James', where he was marking another tricky left winger, Jack Grealish, is averaging 1.4 fouls in the English top flight this term, committing 2+ fouls in three of his last four league appearances.
