Chelsea (A) to beat Burnley (12:30) @ 1/2
They say never back the early kick-off, but I’ve spat in the face of that nonsense and gone for not one, but two 12:30 starts. Let’s start in the Premier League where Burnley host Chelsea at Turf Moor.
I’m concerned about Scott Parker’s men this term against the top teams and the 3-2 defeat to West Ham before the international break was damaging. Enzo Maresca’s side are hit and miss, but are now third in the league and have won their last two league games to nil. They should have too much for the Clarets.
Coventry City (H) to beat West Brom (12:30) @ 4/5
The Championship leaders are back in action on Saturday, as Coventry City welcome West Brom to the CBS Arena. Frank Lampard has guided his side to eight wins out of their last nine, as the Sky Blues stole all three points at Stoke City last time out to extend their lead at the top.
West Brom beat Oxford United prior to the international break but Ryan Mason has been through a sticky patch and that win ended a run of four games without a win. I think this is a decent price on the home side, who have only lost two Championship games under Lampard at home.

Middlesbrough (A) to beat Oxford United (15:00) @ 1/1
Onto Oxford now, who do look like they are in deep in a relegation battle. They have only won three of their 15 matches so far, one of those coming against Sheffield Wednesday and their squad is one of the poorest in the second tier.
Boro meanwhile look likely to appoint Kim Hellberg as their new manager, but Adi Viveash will take charge of this one. The departure of Rob Edwards galvanised them to a win over Birmingham City, and I expect another three points here.
Hull City (A) to beat QPR (15:00) @ 5/2
Going for a big price away win here. I’m starting to believe in Hull City. They’ve won five of their last seven games and are coping with a few key injuries, so I think Sergej Jakirovic deserves massive credit.
QPR on the other hand have been incredibly streaky this season, going on a good run after losing 7-1 to Coventry to climb the table, but no wins in the last four has seen them back down to 16th. I’m leaning towards an away win at a big price.
Port Vale (H) to beat Plymouth Argyle (15:00) @ 1/1
I’ll back against Plymouth Argyle til the cows come home this term. League 1 has been a disaster for them this term, there is anger towards the board and Tom Cleverley in the dugout as they sit bottom of the table.
Let’s not forget that they were only relegated from the Championship last season, and were expected to challenge for promotion. It’s gone badly wrong. Port Vale are also in the relegation zone, and are struggling for goals, but I’d back anyone to beat Argyle right now.
