Football Bet of the Day: Goal-fest expected in Paris on Friday

Friday's Football Bet of the Day takes me to France, with Paris Saint-Germain's next door neighbours, Paris FC in action against Stade Rennais, and the game taking place at Stade Jean-Bouin (20:00 GMT).

One point separates the two teams heading into tonight's clash, with the visitors on 15 points to the hosts' 14. Given how both their seasons have started, I think this match can provide plenty of entertainment, which is a big part of my latest selection.

Paris FC vs Rennes Odds

Paris have won two of their five home league games so far and they are 13/10 to come out on top here.

Rennes have drawn the most matches in Ligue 1 (six) this season, and the stalemate is available at 5/2. The visitors are winless on their travels and are valued at 2/1 to come away with the three points.

Neither side have been particularly consistent in the league so far so I think steering clear from a result is the best course of action here on Friday night. In my opinion, the real value lies in goals for this contest.

These two teams are amongst the highest-scoring sides in the division with 18 apiece from the first 11 games. Only Marseille (25), Lille, Monaco (both 23), Strasbourg (22) and PSG (21) have found the net on more occasions than Paris and Rennes.

The only thing holding them back at the moment is that they are also leaking goals at a similar rate, with the hosts conceding 17 goals to Rennes' 20 at this stage of the campaign.

This combination of two teams who both score and concede a lot of goals makes both teams to score - Yes and over 3.5 goals a very appealing market in my eyes. When it comes to BTTS, Paris and Rennes both rank top of the table in Ligue 1 for this statistic with 73% (8/11) of their matches seeing both teams get on the scoresheet.

This market has been a successful bet in three of the hosts' past four outings heading into Friday, while it has landed in each of the visitors' last four fixtures.

Rennes stand alone at the top of the over 3.5 goals table in Ligue 1, having experienced this threshold in 64% (7/11) of their fixtures so far, including 80% (4/5) of their away trips.

The two markets combined have been a winning selection in three of Paris' five home appearances in the top flight, while this bet has been successful in six of Rennes' (home and away).

The last match played here was a 3-3 draw with Lyon, while four of Rennes' previous five games saw at least four goals scored and both teams on the scoresheet.
