Juventus vs Udinese Prediction: Old Lady’s skid continues, says 5/1 tip

Juventus are in desperate need of a change in fortunes when they host Udinese at the Allianz Stadium in Serie A on Wednesday (18:30 local, 17:30 GMT, live on Betfred.com and DAZN).
The Bianconeri have followed up a three-game winning start to the season with eight winless matches, including three defeats on the spin which saw Igor Tudor sacked this week. My Juventus vs Udinese predictions are below, with full team news and Betfred’s match odds.

Team News
Interim boss Massimo Brambilla, who until Monday was in charge of Juve’s Next Gen side, will have to choose between Federico Gatti and Daniele Rugani in defence as one of his key decisions.
Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz are expected to start behind Jonathan David up front as Juve look to end a 394-minute wait for a goal since Conceicao put them 2-1 up at Villarreal on October 1.
Udinese have Iker Bravo back in the reckoning after sitting out Saturday’s 3-2 win over Lecce due to suspension, although Kosta Runjaic is set to make minimal changes to that winning lineup so the Spaniard might have to watch from the bench.
Jurgen Ekkelenkamp could be sacrificed as Runjaic looks to contain Juventus, with Jakub Piotrowski lined up to take the Dutchman’s place in a flatter midfield five.
Juventus vs Udinese Predicted Lineups
- Juventus: Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly; McKennie, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; David
- Udinese: Okoye; Goglichidze, Kabasele, Solet; Zanoli, Piotrowski, Karlstrom, Atta, Kamara; Zaniolo, Davis
Betfred are backing Juventus’ bouncebackability (remember that word?) The leading bookies have priced up the Old Lady at 4/9, which implies a 69.2% probability of Brambilla getting an upturn in performance out of his players.
Udinese are a 13/2 shot to cause an upset at the Allianz Stadium, with the draw available at 16/5.
The top of the first goalscorer market is flooded with Juventini, with Jonathan David leading the way at 3/1.
The Zebrette’s shortest-priced shout is former Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis at 10/1.
Juventus vs Udinese Stats
- Juventus’ eight-game winless run matches their longest skid post-Calciopoli
- Udinese have won two and drawn one of their four away games this season, including a 2-1 success at Inter
- The visitors have lost just twice in 10 games in all competitions, whereas Juve haven’t won since September 10 and haven’t scored in four weeks
Double Chance: Draw or Udinese @ 13/8
While many Juventus fans will be relieved to have seen the back of the short-lived Tudor era, they may be left disappointed if they expect a switch to be flicked under Brambilla.
On the face of it, Udinese at home is a game all big clubs would be wanting to dominate more often that not. But Juve need a big change in attitude if they are to get the three points on Tuesday.
Having seen them play Inter into several traps at San Siro, I can see the Friulani taking a similar approach in Turin.
I fancy them to frustrate Juve early and then play on the nerves and frustrations which are bound to build the longer the game remains scoreless.
So the double chance of Udinese getting something out of the game at 13/8 looks extremely appetising.

Clean Sheet: Udinese @ 5/1
This looks like a real value bet.
As mentioned, there’s a very real possibility that tension will rise in the home sections if Juventus don’t get on top of the game early.
Udinese might have conceded twice to Lecce at the weekend, but they are also more than capable of carrying out a thorough game plan. This was evidenced in their 2-1 victory against Inter in August.
Runjaic’s probable change in bringing in Piotrowski for Ekkelenkamp should make them tougher in the engine room.
So the 5/1 price offered about a clean sheet for the visitors – and a fifth straight scoreless game for Juve – is well worth a butchers.
The Old Lady’s bad run won’t last forever, but nor will it disappear overnight.
