Newcastle vs Fulham Prediction: Woltemade to score again

Newcastle United will be raring to go in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00 BST) when they host Fulham at St. James' Park. The Magpies dispatched Benfica 3-0 here in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday.

The Cottagers head to Tyneside having lost three games on the spin in the top flight. Below you will find my Newcastle vs Fulham predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Newcastle vs Fulham Betting Tips

  • Newcastle and both teams to score @ 9/4
  • Nick Woltemade anytime goalscorer @ 13/10

Team News

The hosts are still having to cope with injuries to Tino Livramento, Yoane Wissa (both knee) and Jacob Ramsey (ankle). Lewis Hall has had some fitness issues this term and it is likely that he will sit out of the weekend's clash with Fulham.

Sandro Tonali was able to make the bench in midweek and boss Eddie Howe may consider restoring him to the starting XI on Saturday.

Harvey Barnes will be knocking on Howe's door to start this match after netting a brace from the bench against Benfica.

Premier League Odds

Fulham are dealing with some injuries of their own. Rodrigo Muniz (muscle) and Kenny Tete (knee) remain out of action for Marco Silva's side, while Sasa Lukic is going to miss out for several weeks with an abductor problem.

With three defeats in a row in the Premier League, Silva may consider making a few alterations against Newcastle.

Newcastle vs Fulham Predicted Lineups

  • Newcastle: Pope; Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Burn; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Elanga, Woltemade, Gordon
  • Fulham: Leno; Castagne, Diop, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Cairney; Wilson, King, Iwobi; Jimenez

Today's Football Fixtures

Newcastle vs Fulham Odds

Newcastle have won three of their last four home games in all competitions and they are 3/5 (implied probability of 62.5%) to prevail on Saturday.

The draw is marketed at 11/4, with the two clubs having drawn five games between them in the top flight this term.

Fulham are 9/2 to come away with the three points.

Both teams to score Yes has been a winning selection in the Cottagers' past two away trips in the league and it is valued at 4/5 on this occasion.

Newcastle vs Fulham Stats

  • Newcastle have won three of their last four home games
  • BTTS has struck in Fulham's past two away trips in the PL
  • Nick Woltemade (NEW) has four league goals in five appearances

Newcastle and both teams to score @ 9/4

Newcastle had more Champions League success in the week but they now need to find a way of translating that into the Premier League, where they have won just two of their opening eight fixtures.

The Magpies have work to do if they are to be in the top six conversation again but they have the chance to start building some momentum against Fulham, who have lost 3-1 on their last two away trips in the top flight.

The Cottagers are another side struggling for consistency, and this has been a common issue for them since returning to the Premier League a couple of years ago. Newcastle's supporters are good at making their stadium a hostile environment, and this often leads to a lift in the performance from their players.

After Tuesday's success, I think the hosts can get back to winning ways in the league, but I think both teams to score is worth adding to the selection because the visitors have found the net in their past two away trips.

Nick Woltemade anytime goalscorer @ 13/10

Newcastle supporters will be enjoying former striker Alexander Isak's slow start to life at Liverpool after forcing a summer exit from the North East, as his replacement, Nick Woltemade, has hit the ground running in black and white.

The German international arrived with the pressure of succeeding Isak as well as a £69m price tag - but so far he has lived up to the billing. The forward has struck four goals in his first five Premier League appearances, three of which have come at home.

He poses a threat both on the ground and in the air, with two of his goals so far coming from headers. Fulham look a little shaky when defending crosses and I think Woltemade is the man who can profit from their frailties.
