Union Saint-Gilloise vs Inter Milan Prediction: 9/2 says brilliant Bonny nets again

Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise have the chance to take one of Europe’s bigger scalps on Tuesday when they entertain Inter Milan on Champions League matchday three at Lotto Park (21:00 local, 20:00 BST, live on TNT Sports 8).
The Nerazzurri are on a run of six successive wins in all competitions after edging out Roma 1-0 on Saturday. My Union Saint-Gilloise vs Inter Milan predictions follow below with full team news and Betfred’s latest match odds.

Team News
David Hubert is likely to start with Kevin Rodriguez as the focal point of the Union attack, with Canada star Promise David and former Genk man Anouar El Hadj in support.
At the back they are led by captain and former Portsmouth man Christian Burgess and Kevin Mac Allister, the brother of Liverpool Premier League winner Alexis.
For Inter, this could be a chance for some players to be rested following two wins in their opening pair of league-phase matches.
Lautaro Martinez may be given the night off to allow for Pio Esposito, who scored his first goal for Italy against Estonia last week, to start. Francesco Acerbi also looks set to be rested, with Stefan de Vrij on standby to replace him.
There’s still no Marcus Thuram up top, so Saturday’s matchwinner Ange-Yoan Bonny will again get the nod up front.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs Inter Milan Odds
Inter are well-fancied to make it seven straight wins in league and cup, with Betfred pricing them at 7/10 for the victory at an implied probability of 58.8%.
You can get 4/1 for a home win, with the draw available at 3/1.
Martinez is a 4/1 chance for the first goal in the eventuality that Cristian Chivu decides to stick with his Argentine captain, while Bonny and Esposito are both 9/2 to opening the scoring.
Union Saint-Gilloise vs Inter Milan Stats
- Union will be Inter’s 151st different opponents in international competition. They have won two, lost two and drawn one against new adversaries in 2025, beginning with the 5-0 CL final loss to Paris Saint-Germain in May
- Ange-Yoan Bonny has one goal involvement for every 37.83 minutes he has played so far in 2025/26
- Union have won one of seven previous games against Italian clubs (D2, L4), but that win in April 1959 v Roma in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup
Inter to win to nil @ 2/1
The Nerazzurri have got something good going.
True, it didn’t look like it when they were suffering back-to-back losses to Udinese and Juventus, but their form over the last five weeks shows what Chivu has been able to get out of his side.
They have scored 14 goals and conceded just twice in their last half-a-dozen games, with their topsy-turvy 4-3 loss to Juventus having led to a locking up of the gate defensively.
The Beneamata were 2-0 winners away to Ajax and beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in their two Champions League games to date, and I can’t see them being breached by Union either.
I fancy Inter to follow Saturday’s blueprint by getting an early lead, looking after it, and then looking for further chances to add on to the score.
At 2/1 and an implied probability of 33.3%, this is massively underestimating a side who have kept clean sheets in five of nine matches to date (55.6%).

Ange-Yoan Bonny first goalscorer @ 9/2
Inter’s French summer signing from Parma has three goals and three assists to his name already.
That might sound OK nine games into a season, but bear in mind the fact he has only started twice and those stats suddenly sound mesmeric.
He collected all three of those assists in his first start for the club against Cremonese earlier this month, and also netted the other goal in a 4-1 win over the previously-unbeaten Grigiorossi.
The 21-year-old then struck the early winner on his second start against Roma last time out, and another goal here would start to give Chivu – who brought the striker with him from the Ennio Tardini – a few serious headaches as Thuram starts to make his way back to full fitness.
I love the look of Bonny and think he’s the real deal. He should give the home defence all sorts of trouble, and with the value just not there in the anytime scorer market I’m happy to take the 9/2 on him grabbing the opener.
