Championship Predictions: Can Coventry maintain incredible scoring run?

We are back with our Championship predictions for gameweek 10 and this particular Coventry City fan is very much enjoying looking at the table right now. Can the Sky Blues continue their unbeaten start to the season at home to Blackburn Rovers, and will Sheffield United be able to halt their dreadful form at the bottom of the table?
Below you can find out what myself, and my illustrious colleague Conor Keane and Nick Ware think will happen in our Championship Predictions.

Middlesbrough vs Ipswich Town (20:00, Friday) - 0-2 @ 12/1
A Friday night cracker between two teams that could be tussling it out for promotion come the end of the season. I think Ipswich are starting to click and they’ve won three of their last four including that massive win in the derby last time out.
I think they will make massive progress towards the top of the table in the next month, and although Boro have made a good start, they lost to Portsmouth last time out and this one could be a tough ask. 0-2.
Nick: 1-1
Conor: 1-2
Southampton vs Swansea City (12:30, Saturday) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Southampton’s underlying numbers remain strong and I do think Mr Will Still will turn things around in terms of results. Both teams have scored in five of the last six Swansea games and so I’ll back them to get on the scoresheet in a narrow defeat.
Nick: 2-0
Conor: 1-0
Oxford United vs Derby County (12:30, Saturday) - 0-0 @ 6/1
A relegation six-pointer at this stage of the season? Why not. Oxford United sit 22nd with just six points from nine games, while Derby have only managed eight points from their opening nine fixtures. It’s not been a great start for either manager, with John Eustace expected to do better at the start of the season. I think a draw is the best bet, with a goalless draw the best pick from my point of view.
Nick: 1-1
Conor: 1-1
QPR vs Millwall (12:30, Saturday) - 2-0 @ 11/1
QPR have been on a storming unbeaten run since conceding seven goals to Coventry, winning four and drawing two to drag themselves into the play-offs. I think they can continue this good form up against a Millwall that are tough to gauge right now with a draw, a loss and a win in their last three. They were impressive against WBA in a 3-0 win, but I think this away game could be tricky for them.

Birmingham City vs Hull City (15:00, Saturday) - 1-0 @ 6/1
Birmingham have to start winning games at some point. I’m not confident at all in this prediction, but on paper, they are a better team than Hull. I’m hoping the international break will have helped them gel, and we should see results come together for Chris Davies. Keep Oli McBurnie quiet, and they should be okay.
Nick: 2-0
Conor: 1-1
Stoke City vs Wrexham (15:00, Saturday) - 1-1 @ 11/2
Wrexham have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks with Ben Sheaf and Lewis O’Brien performing well in midfield. They’ve got a good squad for the level now and just like Davies, Phil Parkinson is just trying to get his best XI to gel. I think they can get a decent point away at a Stoke City outfit that have been impressive, but now sit fifth after three draws on the bounce.
Nick: 2-2
Conor: 2-2
Charlton Athletic vs Sheffield Wednesday (15:00, Saturday) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Sheffield Wednesday were hammered 5-0 at home by Coventry last time out and relegation seems a certainty from this point. However, their away fixtures, supported by a noisy away end, take on a different feel to their matches at a morbid Hillsborough, and so I think this will be closer than many think.
Wednesday beat Pompey away from home recently and drew at Birmingham. I’ll back them to lose here on balance, but only just.
Nick: 2-0
Conor: 3-1
Sheffield United vs Watford (15:00, Saturday) - 1-0 @ 6/1
Sheffield United have to win games of football at some point. Surely. That squad is too good and Chris Wilder is too smart to be stuck to the bottom of the table, and so I will back them to get a home win. Just.
I don’t like the fact that this is Javi Gracia’s first game in charge and Watford could have a bit of a bounce - not that they need one having picked up seven points from their last three - but I’m going to side with Wilder. This one will probably be wrong, let’s be honest.
Nick: 2-1
Conor: 1-0
Norwich City vs Bristol City (15:00, Saturday) - 0-2 @ 14/1
All eyes will be on Liam Manning in the Norwich dugout for this one. He’s a man under huge pressure and the man who swapped Ashton Gate for Carrow Road this summer is yet to win a game in Norfolk this season.
Having lost that unbeaten record against fierce rivals Ipswich, Manning needs a win and a good performance. Unfortunately for him, I think his old club will be hugely motivated and bite back with a vengeance.
Nick: 1-1
Conor: 2-2
Coventry City vs Blackburn Rovers (15:00, Saturday) - 3-0 @ 10/1
I have to back my own team here. The league’s top scorers have scored 27 goals in nine matches, which averages out at three per game. Top scorer Haji Wright scored twice for the USA on Wednesday and so may not start, but Cov are firing on all cylinders right now. 3-0.
Nick: 3-1
Conor: 4-0
West Brom vs Preston North End (15:00, Saturday) - 1-0 @ 5/1
It feels like I back a PNE defeat every week and they prove me wrong - but I’m going to do it again. Preston sit 18th for xGD this season and 23rd for xG created, so their results should drop off based on that underlying data. WBA sit seventh under Ryan Mason and will look to bounce back after that disappointing showing at Millwall. Narrow home win.
Nick: 1-0
Conor: 1-0
Leicester City vs Portsmouth (20:00, Saturday) - 2-0 @ 7/1
We finish on Friday night and this could be a routine home win for Leicester. The Foxes are unbeaten in their last seven and are looking strong, although they are drawing too many games to challenge the top two right now. Pompey have won one of their last five, but it did come in their last fixture as they became the first team to beat Rob Edwards’ Boro. Leicester’s individual quality should carry them to three points.
