Team News

Afghanistan batter Rahmat Shah suffered a calf injury while batting in the second ODI and will miss the final game of the series. Darwish Rasooli should come into the middle-order and seamers Abdollah Ahmadzai and Bilal Sami are vying to replace the struggling Bashir Ahmad.

Bangladesh could bring in opener Mohammad Naim in place of Tanzid Hasan, who has been dismissed for 10 and nought in the first two matches. Young fast bowler Nahid Rana may win his fifth ODI cap.

Afghanistan vs Bangladesh Odds

Afghanistan are 1/2 to claim a fifth win in their last six ODIs against 13/8 shots Bangladesh.

The Afghans have had the highest opening partnership in the first two ODIs in Abu Dhabi and they are 8/13 to beat 6/5 Bangladesh in that market on Tuesday. The draw is a 25/1 chance.

Towhid Hridoy to be top Bangladesh batter @ 7/2

Bangladesh's batting unit has struggled on sluggish pitches in Abu Dhabi, where they have been bowled out for 221 and 109 in the first two ODIs against Afghanistan.

Litton Das, their most reliable white-ball runscorer, is injured for this series, so Towhid Hridoy looks the best bet to top-score for the Tigers in the final game.

Towhid's run of three straight ODI half-centuries against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan came to an end on Saturday, when he was bowled by Rashid Khan for 24.

That was still the highest score of the innings as the Tigers subsided to an 81-run defeat and the middle-order man has shown great potential in 50-over cricket.

He made 92 on his debut against Ireland, 74 against Australia at the 2023 World Cup and 96 not out against Sri Lanka in Colombo in March 2024.

Towhid scored a battling 100 in February's Champions Trophy match against India, after his side had slipped to 35-5, and he may well outshine his teammates again on Tuesday.

Ibrahim Zadran to score over 27.5 runs @ 5/6

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran form a fantastic partnership at the top of the order for Afghanistan and Ibrahim should be backed to make at least 28 runs in the third ODI.

The unflustered right-hander averages 50.68 after 38 ODIs and his six centuries include a couple of stunning efforts against Australia and England.

He scored 129 not out in Afghanistan's thrilling defeat to the Aussies at the 2023 World Cup and smashed 177 off 146 balls against England at this year's Champions Trophy.

Ibrahim's watchful 95 in the second ODI against Bangladesh is comfortably the highest score of the series and he could prove hard to dislodge on Tuesday.
