Despite significant support in the betting, Jeddaal failed to reward Nap of the Day backers at Ayr on Tuesday. A disappointing effort, to be frank.

Hopefully we can put that behind us 24 hours later courtesy of one at Kempton.

Harry Charlton's TEN POUNDS is fancied to make a return to the winners' enclosure at Kempton on Wednesday.

The four-year-old son of Middle Park and July Cup hero Ten Sovereigns looks to have been found a good opportunity on his return to action following an 81-day break.

That time off wasn't by design, nor did he encounter a setback. He was scheduled to run at Newmarket in August but suffered a stone bruise on the day - and then he knocked a joint at Doncaster a few weeks back, missing a £36k handicap at the Betfred St Leger Festival.

As a result, I don't expect him to be lacking for fitness in Surrey - but I can only assume the oddsmakers have a different opinion, for I think he's well overpriced at time of publication.

He boasts several pieces of form - be it his victory in a handicap at Newmarket off a mark of 99 on seasonal reappearance or his third in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot - that stand out like a sore thumb in this field.

Conceding four pounds to William Haggas' More Thunder, who's now a Group 2 winner rated 119, in his last two starts was in hindsight a near-on impossible task.

Ten Pounds' run at the royal meeting was the selection's first and final one over six furlongs, so despite the fact he tends to race over further, I have zero concerns about him dropping back in distance on Wednesday.

The selection is rated seven and nine pounds superior to his main market rivals, Marchiogon and Drama respectively, while it's 10lbs in the case of Divine Libra.

Al Shabab Storm has the rating to be competitive, but he's not currently at that level so something of a revival is required. Bolo Neighs, as brilliant a name that is, is hard to advise after a 136-day layoff - and Fair Wind is 20s for a reason.

I expect Ten Pounds to take all the beating here under Billy Loughnane, whose presence is a big plus, for the first time. He rates an outstanding bet at the prices.
