Wigan vs Salford Prediction: 3/1 Latics look appealing for Tuesday’s contest

Wigan Athletic and Salford City will get their respective EFL Trophy campaigns underway on Tuesday night (19:00, live on Sky Sports +), when the Latics welcome the Ammies to the Brick Community Stadium.

Given that Wigan are unbeaten in their last three matches, we could see an unchanged lineup from Ryan Lowe, which would see Sam Tickle start between the sticks, behind a back three of Will Aimson, Jason Kerr and Morgan Fox.

Christian Saydee will keep his place up top after his goal on Saturday but summer signing Paul Mullin could start alongside him in place of Dara Costelloe.

Joseph Hungbo and Ryan Trevitt will look to retain their positions in the engine room, while Fraser Murray and Callum Wright could be deployed on the flanks once again.

As for Salford, they're out to end a two-game winless run, so Karl Robinson may also be tempted to name a strong lineup for the trip to the Brick Community Stadium.

Last season's top scorer Cole Stockton could return to the fold after being limited to a substitute's appearance last time out, while the likes of Ben Woodburn and Luke Garbutt are expected to start.

Daniel Udoh signed for the Ammies on deadline day from Wycombe Wanderers but isn't expected to feature here.
