Team News
Given that Wigan are unbeaten in their last three matches, we could see an unchanged lineup from Ryan Lowe, which would see Sam Tickle start between the sticks, behind a back three of Will Aimson, Jason Kerr and Morgan Fox.
Christian Saydee will keep his place up top after his goal on Saturday but summer signing Paul Mullin could start alongside him in place of Dara Costelloe.
Joseph Hungbo and Ryan Trevitt will look to retain their positions in the engine room, while Fraser Murray and Callum Wright could be deployed on the flanks once again.
Wigan vs Salford Stats
- Wigan are unbeaten in their last three fixtures
- Salford are winless in their last two matches
As for Salford, they're out to end a two-game winless run, so Karl Robinson may also be tempted to name a strong lineup for the trip to the Brick Community Stadium.
Last season's top scorer Cole Stockton could return to the fold after being limited to a substitute's appearance last time out, while the likes of Ben Woodburn and Luke Garbutt are expected to start.
Daniel Udoh signed for the Ammies on deadline day from Wycombe Wanderers but isn't expected to feature here.
Wigan are 1/1 favourites to win in 90 minutes, giving them an implied win probability of 50%, the draw is available at 23/10, while a Salford win is 5/2.
To win the tie, it's 4/7 for the hosts, while the visitors are 5/4. If you think there'll be goals in this game, over 2.5 is 10/11, and over 3.5 is 9/4.
Match Result & Both Teams to Score - Wigan Athletic & Yes @ 3/1
The hosts have taken eight points from their opening six League 1 contests to leave them sitting in 13th place in the standings - not a terrible return. However, Lowe's side have won their two EFL Cup matches to book their place in the third round.
The Tics will be looking to make a winning start to yet another domestic competition here, and they'll fancy their chances against League 2 Salford, who've had a mixed start to their season.
The Ammies have accumulated 10 points from their opening six fixtures, although they're winless in their last two outings.
However, Robinson's side have scored in six of their last seven fixtures across all competitions, so they're capable of getting on the scoresheet on Tuesday night.
We're going to back Wigan to prevail in terms of the match result, as they should have too much quality in within their ranks and are unbeaten at home so far this term.

Total Goals - Under 2.5 @ 4/5
If you want to steer clear of the match result, our next pick is for Tuesday's contest is backing under 2.5 goals.
This bet has landed in six of Wigan's eight matches across all competitions this term, and it's also been a winning play in four of Salford's five most recent contests, too.
Both sides could only muster 1-1 draws at the weekend, and the goals aren't exactly flowing for either team as they're among the lowest scorers in the top-half of the respective leagues.
