Football Bet of the Day: 13/5 Cherries to sting Bees

Tuesday brings us some Carabao Cup action, and our Football Bet of the Day will focus on an all-Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Brentford (19:45 BST, live on Sky Sports +).
Both sides won 1-0 in the Premier League at the weekend, so they'll be hoping to build on that momentum midweek.
Football Bet of the Day - Tuesday, August 26
- Bournemouth to win to nil @ 13/5
*odds correct at time of publication
Bournemouth's season started with an impressive display at Anfield, despite a 4-2 loss against the champions, and Andoni Iraola's side followed that performance up with a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
The Cherries will no doubt have taken inspiration from Crystal Palace and Newcastle United winning the domestic trophies on offer last year, especially as it can serve as a gateway to European football. As a result, we wouldn't be surprised to see a strong lineup from the hosts, whereas normally these cup ties are used for squad rotation.
Similar to this year, the Cherries started last season off in impressive form but ultimately fell short of qualifying for a Uefa competition due to a poor run over the final few months of the campaign.
Iraola's men were knocked out at this stage in last season's competition at the hands of West Ham United, so the Spaniard will be hoping his side can go further this term.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Bournemouth have won three of their past five competitive games at home
- Brentford have scored in both of their opening Premier League contests
Brentford have undergone a turbulent summer, with long-term manager Thomas Frank departing for Tottenham Hotspur, while the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Dean Huijsen have left to join Manchester United and Real Madrid respectively.
Yoane Wissa is the latest name to have his head turned at the Gtech Community Stadium, as the forward reportedly has his heart set on a move to Newcastle United, and the 28-year-old is yet to feature for the Bees this term.
Keith Andrews made the worst possible start to life as Brentford manager, losing 3-1 to Nottingham Forest, but the Bees bounced back at the weekend, beating Unai Emery's Aston Villa by a single goal.
There's no doubting that Brentford looked more solid defensively against Villa than in their opening game , but the likes of Marcus Tavernier and Antoine Semenyo - who have looked a huge threat in Bournemouth's opening two games - can run riot here.
While the Bees have found the net in each of their two opening league games, we think backing the hosts to win to nil appeals here at 13/5.
