New York Lotto Big Winner: Holiday home plan for Lotto winner!

A Betfred online customer from Nottingham is planning on purchasing a holiday home in sunnier climes following a huge windfall on the New York Lotto.

Paul Howkins picked four random numbers for his £5 stake ahead of the draw on Wednesday night and walked away with £125,000 after numbers 2, 5, 9 and 45 fell from the drum.

The Civil Engineering foreman said, “It’s not really sunk in yet. I’ve never won anything like this amount before.

"The most I won was £6,500 a few months ago, but I expect all my family will be playing the New York Lotto this weekend after this."

Asked why this particular Lotto appeals, Paul added “It’s the odds. On the National Lottery you’re looking a about £1500 for four numbers but this is 25,000/1.

"I always play the New York Lotto and on the odd occasion will do the Irish Lottery and the Irish Daily Millions."

Lottery Betting

The 53-year-old already has big plans for his winnings.

“I am going to look for an apartment abroad. Somewhere like Spain or Greece appeals.

“I only ever stick my bets on at Betfred. I enjoy going into the Market Square shop in Nottingham where the staff are brilliant. I go in every Saturday morning to do my numbers and my horse bets, while I like Fred’s virtual pushes too.

“I also love going racing. I go locally to Nottingham, Southwell and Doncaster while I also enjoy heading to Cheltenham and York too.

“I know they are cliches, but you never think it will happen to you, but I guess you have to be in it to win it, and I won it.

“It is a life-changing amount at the end of the day.”
