The Lions' opening Test against Australia in Brisbane will take the Saturday morning headlines but, later in the day, England fans can look forward to seeing some possible future stars as the Red Rose tackle the United States in Washington.

It's a 23:00 BST start at Audi Field in the US capital with coverage via the official England Rugby YouTube channel and World Rugby's streaming service RugbyPass TV as England head coach Steve Borthwick looks to build on last week's impressive series-clinching win over Argentina as his side signs off their summer tour. Below are my United States vs England predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

  • England -49.5 points @ 5/6

Team News

It's an experimental England line-up as George Ford captains a starting XV which features three uncapped players, with Arthur Clark, Max Ojomoh and Joe Carpenter making their debuts.

Only Ford, centre Luke Northmore and lock Alex Coles retain their starting berths from the 22-17 win over Argentina, while Jack van Poortvliet's last-gasp try has earned him a start at scrum-half. Charlie Atkinson and Oscar Beard are also primed for their Test debuts off the bench.

The United States are without lock Sam Golla owing to a shoulder problem and could call on the likes of Ezekiel Lindenmuth and Christian Poidevin for debuts in Washington.

United States vs England Match Odds

The USA are 33/1 outsiders to claim a shock win over England, with the draw trading at 80/1.

The 2-way handicap we're going for (England) is set at -49.5 points, with Borthwick's side 5/6 to cover.

England -49.5 points @ 5/6

England have been impressive in this summer tour so far. They lost out 26-24 in a pulsating non-cap contest at Twickenham last month and have since recorded back-to-back wins over Argentina.

They beat the Pumas 35-12 in La Plata and followed up with a gutsy 22-17 win in San Juan last weekend as Jack van Poortvliet's try in the final minute turned things in their favour.

George Ford celebrated an historic 100th cap with a superb kicking display in the first of those Pumas Tests, nailing three conversions, two penalties, and a drop-goal; while also impressing with his playmaking.

Harlequins winger Caden Murley came off the bench in week one to score against Argentina and gets a start now.

Borthwick stressed the USA will 'present a tough challenge' but they fell 0-20 behind inside 25 minutes against Spain last time out and were eventually beaten 30-21.

They may suffer at the hands of an England team with enough experience to excel and some promising talents eager to impress Borthwick on this final stop of the summer.
