Porto take on Al Ahly (02:00 BST DAZN), with both teams knowing that only a win will keep their hopes of qualification alive. Porto were the favourites to win this group but drew with Palmeiras, before a Lionel Messi free-kick saw them fall to defeat against Inter Miami.

That leaves them on one point, level with Al Ahly at the bottom of the group. At least one of these teams is heading home, so we could get an attacking affair in this clash. Below you can find my Porto vs Al Ahly Bet Builder Tips.

Porto to win

Porto haven’t been at the races at the Club World Cup so far, but when it all comes down to it, I think they will have too much for Al Ahly. The Egyptian side did well against Inter Miami and arguably should have won as they missed a penalty, but they were second-best against Palmeiras and now look like they will be heading home after the group stage.

Messi downed Porto in their last outing, and the group favourites have failed to deliver so far, but they do have a lot of quality in their squad. I also think the fact that Al Ahly and Porto both have to win this game should work in their favour. They’ve got the quality to open the opposition up if the match is end-to-end and they know what they have to do from the off.

They created an xG of 1.69 against Inter Miami and were unfortunate to lose, so I will back the Portuguese side to beat Al Ahly to get this Bet Builder up and running.

Porto vs Al Ahly Stats

  • Both teams have to win to stand a chance of progressing
  • Samu Aghehowa has scored 26 goals in 44 matches

BTTS

Two teams that cannot afford to lose or draw should lead to goals in this final Group A clash. Al Ahly posed a goal threat in their opener but they were timid against Palmeiras, so I am hoping we will see more from them when they meet Porto in New Jersey.

Both of these teams drew 0-0 in their first game but I’m trusting the game state once again here in the hope of goals. There’s simply no point playing things safe as a draw would guarantee that both teams exit at this stage, so I think goals are certainly on the cards.

Porto vs Al Ahly Odds

Samu Aghehowa to score 2+

Samu Aghehowa is the main man for Porto so it makes sense in my eyes to back him to find the net on a couple of occasions. I don’t see many other contenders to score in this game, with Aghehowa having found the net 26 times in 44 matches in total this season.

The 21-year-old is one of the hottest strikers in Europe, and has already found the net at this tournament, scoring the opener against Inter Miami from the penalty spot. Against arguably the weakest team in this group, I think he will be the biggest threat on the pitch, and he could put himself in the shop window with a few more goals.
