Callum Walsh vs Elias Espadas Predictions: ‘King’ of Cali Callum looks to land another big KO

Unbeaten California-based Irishman Callum Walsh looks to keep his ‘0’ against Mexican veteran Elias Espadas. The Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez will host the fight with UFC Fight Pass screening it live.
Here are my Callum Walsh vs Elias Espadas predictions ahead of this Saturday showdown.

- Walsh to win @ 1/16
Callum Walsh vs Elias Espadas Odds
Walsh is a big 1/16 favourite while Espadas is looking at long 7/1 odds while the stalemate is 16/1.
Callum Walsh vs Elias Espadas Fight Preview
Walsh is building a reputation for can’t-miss performances. Last June, Carlos Cervantes was taken out in two rounds. Walsh inflicted the same outcome on Przemyslaw Runowski in September 2024 before decking Darren Sutherland in the opener in March of this year.
Another blink-and-you’ll-miss-it performance in the offing? It is not out of the realm of possibility. Espadas used to be a durable presence, with his first three losses coming on points. But Xander Zayas, who fights for the WBO title in July, and world-ranked contender Fiodor Czerkaszyn knocked Espadas out in consecutive fights in 2022 and 2023.
The quickest of those finishes was against Zayas, who is the odds-on favourite to beat Jorge Garcia for the world title. The Puerto Rican took Espadas out in five rounds, above Walsh’s recent average.
Could patience be needed to combat the Mexican’s relative durability compared to Walsh’s recent victims? Perhaps. But the Irishman, who now calls Ventura, California home, carries his power well late in fights. Dauren Yeleussinov extended Walsh for nine rounds before being stopped.
But it would be insincere to allege that Espadas is expected to provide much of a challenge to Walsh. The 34-year-old has wilted in anything approaching solid company. WBA title challenger Yamaguchi Falca, who only lasted one round with champion David Morrell, outscored him. Journeyman Dashon Johnson knocked him down before winning via decision.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
A fighter with vulnerabilities takes on a knockout phenom who is building a fair following for his all-action displays. This fight was devised with the highlight reel in mind. In fast-flash, music-backed clips most fans are not looking at the opponent. But, assuming ‘King’ Callum does what is necessary on Saturday, you would think the quality of his quarry must improve.
The world is taking notice, despite Walsh’s non-traditional route. The 24-year-old is headlining cards on the UFC’s in-house app, extolling pugilism in a space accustomed to MMA. But that expanded audience has got behind the big-punching prospect.
Walsh is going to impress his unconventional following again on Saturday. Espadas is an ideal candidate for another ‘King’ Callum crushing. Upsets happen, this much is true. But I see very little in the history or style of these two men to suggest one is in the offing.

Callum Walsh vs Elias Espadas Predictions
This fight is made for Callum Walsh. Espadas is coming off a majority draw with unbeaten Sadriddin Akhmedov, where the Mexican used movement and angles to unsettled his fancied foe.
I can see Espadas opting for more of the same and he could keep Callum waiting for his customary brutal exclamation mark of a stoppage. But I do feel like it will come. That is why I’m opting for a Walsh win at 1/16.
