Leicester Tips: Manhattan Mirage can deliver success

Leicester stages a bumper eight-race on Tuesday afternoon and it's competitive, if low-grade action.

The day is highlighted by a Class 4 handicap at 16:47 where the Adrian Wintle-trained Manhattan Mirage could fool his rivals. Check out my Leicester Tips below.

16:47 Manhattan Mirage @ 11/1

Betfred offer three-places on each-way bets in the 16:47 and MANHATTAN MIRAGE looks a good option.

The four-year-old makes his debut for in-form trainer Adrian Wintle after switching from Taphael Freire's yard and the gelding is returning off a 228-day break.

Fitness clearly has to be taken on trust in the seven-furlong handicap, but the son of Inns Of Court has run well on debut and off breaks of 187 days and 124 days in the past.

The four-year-old is lightly raced on just his eighth career start and there could be more to come from Wintle's charge.

Manhattan Mirage has been returned at SPs of 5-4, 7-4, 4-1, 6-1, 6-4, 7-4 and 7-5 on his seven starts, which gives clear indication that the four-year-old is held in high regard, and a mark of 77 looks workable on handicap debut, with Rossa Ryan's booking another plus.

17:17 Squeezebox @ 6/1

SQUEEZEBOX can make it a double for Ryan and owners Value Racing in the mile-and-a-half handicap at 17:17.

The six-year-old finished down the field on his return from a 218-day break at Doncaster last month, but that was a promising effort and there should be more to come on Tuesday afternoon.

Mick Appleby's runner travelled well into contention at Town Moor last time out, but he was too keen off a slow tempo and didn't get home, eventually finishing fourth.

A lack of pace is a slight concern, but the Doncaster run should have taken the freshness out of the six-year-old and Squeezebox should run a more efficient race to go close.

17:47 Tees Aggregates @ 7/2

TEES AGGREGATES was an impressive winner over five furlongs at Catterick 22 days ago, and while Adrian Nicholls' charge has been bumped up six pounds for that success, that may not be enough to stop this speedy sort from following up.

The three-year-old surged through the field to score going away following a slow start and there could be more to come from the son of Earthlight.

Tees Aggregates won a nursery over course and distance last summer and the three-year-old looks set for a second Leicester success.
