Ascot Tips: Docklands on the right track for success

With five UK and Irish meetings taking place across Wednesday there is lots of racing action to cater for all tastes.
Among the meetings will be the Flat card from Ascot, where they have seven races from 13:10-16:30 on ground forecast to be good (good to firm in places). We've picked out a trio to follow for our Ascot tips, including the course specialist Docklands as he bids to show his love for the track once again.

13:40 - Docklands @ 3/1
There aren’t many better horses on Ascot’s straight track than DOCKLANDS and he appears to have been found a perfect opportunity in this Listed race.
Docklands is at his best at this time of year and simply loves it at Ascot. He has two wins, two seconds and a third from five starts at the track and was placed in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at the royal meeting here last season. This is a significantly easier assignment.
The Harry Eustace-trained five-year-old was unable to show that level of form when sent on his travels all over the world later last season, but remains a potent force back at this track.
The selection is versatile with regards to ground and returns from a 143-day break, with a tongue-strap fitted for the first time. He looks certain to go well and has a sound record fresh.

15:55 - Victory Queen @ 13/8
This fillies’ novice event is a hot contest and it’s possible there could be a star of the future in the line up. The one who makes most appeal is the Godolphin runner, VICTORY QUEEN.
The once-raced Kingman filly made the perfect start to her career when landing a mile maiden against her own sex at Newmarket this month, when she beat the more experienced Zgharta by half a length. The front two put four lengths between themselves and the rest.
Victory Queen did well to win given she had to overcome significant inexperience, and she is bred to make up into a top-class performer because she is a half-sister to the stable’s 2,000 Guineas winner Coroebus.
There should be plenty more to come from Victory Queen on just her second start, especially now that she encounters a quick surface, which she is bred to relish.

16:30 - Talis Evolvere each-way @ 16/1
This closing handicap can go to TALIS EVOLVERE, who looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and might be capable of outclassing the opposition from top weight this time.
Talis Evolvere ran one of his better races over course and distance last season, when beaten only two and a half-lengths into fifth of 10 in August, and has since shown himself progressive on the all-weather last winter with a victory at Chelmsford over Christmas time.
He was below par on his sole start at Lingfield in February and needs to bounce back, but returning to turf might help and Tyrese Cameron is good value for his 7lb allowance on top.
The selection is down 1lb in the weights and only 2lb higher than when successful at Chelmsford two starts ago, so won’t need to improve significantly to go well once again.
