Perth Tips: Uptown Harry can strike in Scotland

The racing action continues north of the border on Thursday with another eight races scheduled to take place at Perth, beginning at 13:55 and concluding at 17:36.
Among our three selections is one for trainer Olly Murphy who impressed last time out and looks open to improvement in handicaps.
Perth Tips - Thursday, April 24
14:25 - Kapal Layar @ 9/4
Race number two on the card is a Division 1 Handicap Hurdle over 2m 4f 35y and a field of 10 will battle it out for the spoils, with recent Exeter handicap scorer Koukeo likely to garner much attention.
However, preference is for the Olly Murphy-trained Kapal Layar, who was progressive over hurdle before finishing second at Uttoxeter in a 2m handicap in January behind My Friend Sean, who has gone on to score twice since.
Sean Bowen was booked in for the last ride with Kapal Layar and the duo combined to win at Chepstow in February over 2m 3f, ending up two and a half-lengths clear of Pragnell in second.
The same jockey will climb aboard for Thursday's race and there looks to be a strong chance that this pairing can cross the finish line first once again.

15:25 - Uptown Harry @ 11/1
A field of 12 will line up for the Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase - race number four - and there are a few contenders for this trip over 2m 7f 180y.
Pitwood Road and Siberian Star both look to have solid claims, along with Lady In The Park for Lucinda Russell, but it could be worth taking a chance on Uptown Harry to get back to winning ways.
The 11-year-old is a course-and-distance winner, triumphing back in 2021, and a further two victories have been picked up, both at Carlisle, in 2023 and 2024.
Uptown Harry's last four runs have all come at the Cumbria track, the best effort coming at the start of March when finishing fourth in a Handicap Chase over 3m.
The visor is back on for this trip to Perth and that could help bring about the improvement to challenge for the win.

17:36 - Trailblazer @ 10/3
Wrapping up the card is a 16-runner Handicap Hurdle over 2m 47y and there is likely to be plenty of interest in Heart Above and Belle Of Annandalep, who could be vying for favouritism come the off.
But the Adam Nicol-trained Trailblazer could be worth siding with to claim the victory, just as he did at this track when striking over C&D in July 2024.
After a couple of decent third-placed efforts at Sedgefield in February and April this year, the six-year-old scored under Barry Hughes at the County Durham track by some 13 lengths last time out.
The same duo team up for this Perth event and another victory could be chalked up north of the border.
