Frazer Clarke vs Ebenezer Tetteh Fight Preview

It is no exaggeration to say there was doubt over whether we’d ever see ‘Big Fraze’ in a boxing ring again. The savage first-round knockout he suffered at the hands of Fabio Wardley in December left Clarke with a dent in his head, the result of a high jaw fracture that required surgery. It was a savage end to their heavyweight rematch and one that threatened to derail Clarke entirely.

Almost as shocking as the physical effects was the abrupt ending of the fight. In their previous battle, Clarke and Wardley had shared 12 rounds of superb savagery. In one of 2024’s finest fights, the two men battled to a draw for the British and Commonwealth title. The rematch was inevitable and expected to be as nip-and-tuck as the first fight.

But you know what they say with the heavyweights: one punch can change everything. So while Wardley prepares for a stadium fight at Portman Road against Jarrell Miller for the WBA interim title this summer, Clarke is rebuilding his own career.

That long road back starts with Tetteh. The 23-2 Accra man is a familiar face to British fight fans. Tetteh was last seen holding his own quite well against Dillian Whyte before succumbing in seven rounds.

Tetteh’s only other career defeat came against current IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. ‘Dynamite’ took him out in the first round of a Commonwealth title fight back in 2019. But nobody has rolled over Tetteh like that since. Dubois is a special case. After all, he smashed Anthony Joshua in his last fight.

Frazer Clarke vs Ebenezer Tetteh - Round Group Betting Clarke in Rounds 9-10

Odds correct at time of publishing.

Fights in that sort of company were once talked about for Clarke. The Wardley defeat was a setback but it is an achievement that he is even fighting after that. An impressive display in this bout will put him right back in the mix.

Clarke has solid wins over gatekeeper Bogdan Dinu, former world title challenger Mariusz Wach and Brit favourite David Allen on his resume. ‘Big Fraze’ was scintillating in that first Wardley fight, too. There is plenty to build on for the Olympian and he can start on Sunday night.

BOXXER are targeting future fights with the winner of David Adeleye vs Jeamie TKV in their anticipated British heavyweight title rematch or Johnny Fisher, if he prevails in his upcoming rematch with Allen.

Clarke was present at the first Adeleye-TKV scrap, where a controversial referee call had ‘The Eraser’ up and arguing. A more decisive result in the rematch, particular if BOXXER stablemate TKV wins, could give Clarke a crack at the British title.

But first he must move Tetteh out of his path. No easy feat, as Whyte found out in their brawl. After the scale of his injury after the Wardley bout I think anyone would have forgiven Clarke for taking a journeyman opponent here. The fact he has gone for someone a level above that is a testament to his character.

Frazer Clarke vs Ebenezer Tetteh Prediction

I think this will be a thorough test for Clarke. There will be the inevitable feeling-out process as he adjusts. ‘The Eraser’ will likely exercise some caution in the early rounds after his quick defeat last time.

When Clarke opens up I think he will be able to break his man down. I see this happening late in the fight which is why I’m plumping for a knockout in rounds 9-10 at 11/1.
