Lucky 15 Tips: All set for lift-off at HQ?

Lovely winner yesterday in Persica (advised 5/1) on day one of the Craven meeting, but we couldn't match it up with anything unfortunately. Let's head to flat-race HQ once more for another superb card (Wednesday) that kicks in at 13:50.

Seven races, a couple of Group contests, and ultra-competitive on ground that's eased after heavy rainfall in the area on Monday and early Tuesday. Here's our Lucky 15 tips for day two.

13:50 - Belgrave @ 12/1

The softening of the ground ahead of yesterday's racing meant finding winners was a little trickier given we had no notice of the likelihood of the late change, and though we managed that good scorer I mentioned above I believe we need to think each-way today - go for some value and hope they get in the frame (top step of course would be nice).

Belgrave represents the powerful Ralph Beckett/Rossa Ryan partnership and the Havana Grey colt has one win from four very decent starts, a heavy-ground success at Leicester when last seen in October.

No ground issues then if they're still getting their toe in, and at latest prices he's a cracking bit of value in my book. His sire won on the soft and Belgrave needs to get into the top four for our each-way purposes, as we're paying four places.

14:25 - Muhaajim @ 13/2

The Haggas yard have started well with recent impressive winners, and Tom Marquand had some joy here for the stable yesterday with More Thunder. The duo bid to follow up in this maiden for horses that have yet to see a racecourse with Muhaajim.

The three-year-old Sea The Stars colt out of an Iffraaj mare certainly looks the part and in what's of course a very tricky heat to predict he can give a fine account. Another four places e/w heat for Betfred players.

15:00 - Apollo One @ 9/1

Couldn't be a greater contrast now in terms of experience, as this battle-hardened warrior contests race number 34 under rules.

Apollo One is a great credit to connections and is very competitive in top-end handicaps and occasional G3 forays. Last time we saw the seven-year-old Equiano gelding, in October, was in winning G3 action in a career best, at Ascot.

Powerful and a strong-traveller, he's not best-in on official marks but in truth there's very little in it. Big chance for training duo P Charalambous & J Clutterbuck, and the excellent Danny Tudhope has the mount.

Only seven runners are due to start, but we're going three places each-way - brilliant!

15:35 - Wimbledon Hawkeye @ 11/4

A Gredley family three-year-old colt and a course-and-distance scorer, having taken the G2 Royal Lodge last term.

Wimbledon Hawkeye is in the Betfred Guineas, Betfred Derby, the Dante and the Irish Derby so we know the esteem in which he's held at home.

The Kameko colt should be fine over this stiff mile, and on official marks is advantageously placed with all of his rivals today. James Owen train locally, and Harry Davies rides him for the first time in public.

Should be a very informative affair and I'm hoping his class will prevail.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
