Team News

Bodo/Glimt played their second game of the 2025 Eliteserien season last Saturday, beating HamKam 3-0 on home soil. Kjetil Knudsen could even afford to name Norway international Jens Hauge, who has scored three times in Europe this season, on the bench, although the 25-year-old was brought on at the start of the second half for Sondre Sorli.

Hauge is expected to begin Thursday's game in Bodo, joining Kasper Hogh and Ole Blomberg in attack. Danish striker Hogh is Glimt's top scorer in Europe this season with nine goals - seven in the Europa League and two in Champions League qualifying - and he has found the net in his last three competition games, which includes a brace in a 3-0 home win against Olympiakos.

Football Odds

However, due to injury, Knudsen won't be able to call upon Gaute Vetti (ankle), Sondre Auklend (leg), Syver Skeide (knee) or Daniel Bassi (unspecified).

Four Glimt players - Patrick Berg, Fredrik Bjorkan, Hakon Evjen and Jostein Gundersen - will miss next Thursday's second leg in Italy if they are booked at home.

Bodo/Glimt vs Lazio Stats

  • Kasper Hogh (BGL) has scored seven UEL goals in 24/25 (four in last three apps)
  • Adam Marusic (LAZ) booked in last UEL app
  • Three players booked for fouls on Ole Didrik Blomberg (BGL) in 24/25 UEL

On-loan Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares made his return from injury in Sunday's 1-0 win against Atalanta but lasted just 34 minutes before being taken off with a muscle issue. Luca Pellegrini replaced the Portugal international in Bergamo but was swapped out of Lazio's Europa League squad in January for Elseid Hysaj.

There will definitely be a couple of changes in the middle of the park as influential midfielder Nico Rovella completes a two-game ban given to him for a red card in Lazio's 2-1 first-leg victory over Viktoria Plzen in the last 16. Matteo Guendouzi, who missed I Biancocelesti's weekend win through suspension, looks likely to replace Rovella in Norway.

Rovella's midfielder partner on Sunday, Reda Belahyne - alongside fellow January arrivals Arijon Ibrahimovic and Oliver Provstgaard - was left out Lazio's Uefa squad, so Uruguay international Matias Vecino should start.

Spanish defender Patric (ankle) has missed Lazio's last two games and will be absent from a third on Thursday.

Illness kept Italian centre-back Alessio Romagnoli out of Sunday's Serie A victory, but the 30-year-old should return to action in Bodo, while Taty Castellanos made his return from injury as an unused substitute against La Dea and could feature in the first leg.

Vecino - as well as Patric - will miss next week's return fixture in Rome if he is booked on Thursday.

Bodo/Glimt vs Lazio Odds

Glimt have won five of their six Europa League home games this season, including in the knockout phase play-off round against FC Twente (3-2, 5-2 aet) and the last 16 against Olympiakos (3-0). The Norwegians are 21/10 to make it six in seven on Thursday, implying a 32.3% probability.

Lazio, who won two of their three away matches en route to topping the league phase and beat Viktoria Plzen 2-1 in the Czech Republic last month, are 13/10, or a 43.5% chance, and the draw can be backed at 23/10.

Both teams to score, which has been a winning selection in seven of Glimt's last nine games, is priced at 8/11, and over 2.5 total goals at 10/11.

Castellanos (9/5), who scored three times in the league phase, heads the anytime goalscorer market, followed by Hogh (21/10).

Anytime Goalscorer - Kasper Hogh (BGL) @ 21/10

Hogh enjoyed a successful first season at Glimt, scoring 12 league goals - at least three more than any of his teammates - as his new side successfully retained their Eliteserien title.

The 24-year-old's prolific nature hasn't been confined to Norway, though, with Hogh netting nine times in 15 European appearances for Glimt since signing from Staebek in January 2024.

The Dane scored three goals in the league phase of this season's Europa League, with all three strikes coming on home soil. He got Glimt back on level terms in their 3-2 victory over Portuguese giants Porto in September and bagged a brace in January's 3-1 win against Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Hogh was on target in Glimt's next two European home games, scoring in the knockout phase play-off triumph against Twente before netting twice in a 3-0 success against Olympiakos, and he was also on target in the reverse fixture in Greece to make it seven Europa League goals for the season.

He goes in search of an eighth competition strike this week, and would make it four European home matches in a row with a goal by breaching Lazio's back line on Thursday.

Lazio have been impressive in Europe this season but haven't kept a clean sheet in their last five competition matches, while Glimt have scored in all of their Europa League home matches this term.

Hogh is most likely to get on the scoresheet for the hosts, and at 21/10, he's worth backing, in my opinion.

Player to Receive a Card - Adam Marusic (LAZ) @ 16/5

Lazio right-back Adam Marusic was benched for I Biancocelesti's weekend win in Bergamo but has started nine of his side's 10 Europa League matches this season and is expected to be restored to Marco Baroni's starting XI on Thursday.

He may be shifted to left-back, though, with Taveres injured and Pellegrini ineligible. Hysaj is an option to start there, but Marusic has already featured on the left in Europe this season, featuring there against Ludogorets and Real Sociedad, and I think he may be given the nod at left-back this week.

The 32-year-old has only been booked twice this season for the Rome club, but one of those indiscretions came in Europe, Lazio's last competition game against Plzen (1-1) on March 13. He was carded in just the third minute of that stalemate for a foul on Matej Vydra, and in Norway, he's likely to be in direct contact with Glimt winger Ole Didrik Blomberg, who wins his fair share of free-kicks.

Blomberg has started all four of Glimt's Europa League games this calendar year and has been fouled seven times (1.9 fouls won per 90 minutes).

He was fouled twice in a 2-1 defeat to Twente in the Netherlands, with Swedish defender Gustaf Lagerbielke booked for upending the 24-year-old, and in the return fixture, Sem Steijn was cautioned for taking him down.

Blomberg's third Europa League game saw Olympiakos defender Guilian Biancone booked for a 12th-minute foul on him, and in Greece, the former Brann forward was fouled three times.

So, that's three players in four games that have been scribbled into the referee's notebook for a challenge on Blomberg, which makes whoever marks him on Thursday a standout candidate in the player card market.

It may be worth waiting for the teams to be named before backing this selection, as there is a chance Hysaj starts at left-back instead of Marusic, but if the Montenegro international, who has been booked twice for his country this season, does get the nod, he looks good for a card.
