Rangers to beat Hibs

We open our Saturday fourfold with a bet on Rangers to continue their winning ways under interim manager Barry Ferguson. The team from Govan enjoy the home advantage and aim to add three points against Hibs to recent victories at Celtic Park and Dens Park. The locals scored seven goals in those two games but conceded five. Another exciting match is guaranteed as second plays third in the Premiership.

Hibs travel from Edinburgh to Glasgow as one of the form teams in Scotland. They’ve won four and drawn one of their last five and earned a 3-0 home win over bottom club St Johnstone last weekend. A tougher test awaits at Ibrox, where Hibs lost 1-0 earlier this season. The teams served up a six-goal thriller at Easter Road last time, and we’re backing Rangers to edge another classic.

Aberdeen beat Ross County

Aberdeen open the month with a trip to Dingwall, where they’ll face a Ross County side down on their luck. The hosts start the weekend stuck in ninth place, just two spots and four points better than the relegation zone. The Staggies have lost three of their last four and failed to take a point from their previous two starts.

Aberdeen are involved in a battle with Hibs to secure a bronze medal finish, ending as the best of the rest behind the Old Firm. They’ve won three of their last six and suffered only one defeat in that period. The Dons are unbeaten in three, banked a 4-1 home win over Motherwell last week and look value for another three points.

St Mirren beat Dundee

Moving to our third pick of the weekend, we’re siding with St Mirren to grab a crucial three points in their trip to Dens Park. St Mirren hope to land a top-six finish and money-spinning matches against Rangers and Celtic. The visitors kick off in seventh place, just one point behind Hearts in the prize places. The team from Paisley hammered Kilmarnock 5-1 last Saturday and have collected four of the last six points available. I fancy St Mirren to boost their chances with a crucial win in the City of Discovery.

Dundee put up a good fight at this venue when Rangers came calling last weekend. The Dee exploded into a 2-0 lead and enjoyed a 3-1 advantage in the second half before a late collapse allowed Gers to win 4-3. How Dundee surrendered the lead against Rangers makes them difficult to trust, and we’ll take a chance on St Mirren bagging a hard-fought win.

Partick beat Airdrie

We drop to the Scottish Championship for our final pick of four and take Partick Thistle to beat bottom club Airdrie. The Jags scored a stunning 1-0 win over Morton in Greenock last week and are now six points inside the top four promotion places. Another victory would move them closer to an extended season and a shot at bagging a place in the top tier next season.

There could be two divisions between Partick and Airdrie next season, with the Diamonds racing towards relegation to League One. They’ve managed just five wins from 30 attempts, have -32 in the goal difference tally and are already eight points off safety. Airdrie are easy to oppose this season and we’re happy to stick with the Jags.
