The bout takes place on the undercard of Paris 2024 Olympian Pat Brown’s professional debut. The card also features outings for Cameron Vuong and William Crolla. DAZN will screen the action live.

Here are my Farnhill vs Dickinson predictions ahead of this super middleweight scrap.

Reece Farnhill vs Mark Dickinson Fight Preview

This fight was initially set for the Dalton Smith vs Walid Ouizza card in Nottingham back in January. But Dickinson had to withdraw due to an injury and gets his belated crack at the English super middleweight belt on Friday.

Both men have been fairly active coming into this one. Farnhill was last in the ring in October while Dickinson boxed in November. Each fight was the fighter’s second of 2024. Friday offers a chance to catapult into a big year for the victor.

The English title is traditionally a step on the road to British championship level. That is a mammoth leap at present, with world-ranked Callum Simpson holding the title alongside the Commonwealth strap. The Barnsley man has only had two fights less than Farnhill and Simpson combined at this stage.

But with Simpson competing for European honours this summer, there is a chance that his British title will soon be vacant. The English champ, whoever that happens to be after Friday, will be in a plum position to compete for the vacant belt.

But the English strap itself is an excellent prize and this looks like a fight to match. Farnhill has had nothing handed to him. That 11-0 record was earned in bloody battles like his 10-rounder with Nicolie Campbell as well as nip-and-tuck affairs such as his split decision victory over  Ryszard Lewicki.

Reece Farnhill vs Mark Dickinson - Method Of Victory Farnhill on Points

Odds correct at time of publishing.

Dickinson is 7-1 in his own pro journey. That singular defeat came when he bravely stepped up in class against Japanese middleweight Kazuto Takesako in Osaka. That decision defeat was the first time Dickinson had been 10 rounds, though his impressive fifth-round stoppage of the seasoned Grant Dennis was scheduled for that distance.

This is an exciting clash of two men taking the formative steps of their boxing journey. It is sure to be competitive and I think it will be exciting. These NXTGEN cards are all about standing out in the Matchroom landscape. Plenty to play for and I’m expecting a fight that reflects that.

Reece Farnhill vs Mark Dickinson Prediction

I’m looking forward to this. I think it is a good styles match-up and probably the most competitive fight on the Altrincham card. I think Farnhill has enough in the tank to pull off the victory. I like the champion to retain his title via decision win at 7/2.
