Stumptown @ 5/2
Stumptown will be gunning for his first-ever victory at the Festival. He was narrowly denied a win at Prestbury Park in 2023 in the Kim Muir, losing to Angels Dawn. He has been in great form ahead of another crack in GL50.
The eight-year-old was the winner in the Glenfarclas Crystal Cup Cross Country Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in December, and he now has a taste for success in this sphere, with wins in each of his previous three cross country events.
Keith Donoghue is the rider, and he and Cromwell have combined well in the past. Stumptown the clear favourite.
Galvin @ 7/2
Veteran Galvin will be hoping for one last moment of magic at the Festival. He's 11 now and this could be his last chance for one last hoorah at Prestbury Park. He was narrowly beaten in this race two years ago by the late Delta Work and he was fourth in the 2024 Grand National behind I Am Maximus.
Galvin has an incredible engine on him and he's expected to be right in the thick of it in the closing stages of this race. The ground looks suited for him at the time of writing so he could end up moving up to the favourite by this time tomorrow.
Trainer Gordon Elliott and connections will be fancying his chances, as will many punters.
Vanillier @ 13/2
Vanillier won the Grade 1 Novice Hurdle here four years ago, which was followed by a second-place finish in the Grand National in 2023. There were concerns when he faded to ninth after a prominent position here over the same distance in December, with that race won by Stumptown.
The 10-year-old responded well at Punchestown last time out in another cross country chase, which seemed to be aided by new headgear. Could it help deliver him further success at the Festival?

Mister Coffey @ 7/1
Mister Coffey could be an attractive each-way selection having recorded two placed finishes at the Festival previously over conventional fences. He has been a runner up over course and distance in the two appearances this season.
Stayed well when losing to Stumptown last time out and can certainly put himself in contention this time around. Nicky Henderson will be fancying his chances here, and those are aided by Nico de Boinville as the rider. One to watch.
Busselton @ 7/1
No win over jumps since 2022, but people are quietly confident that Busselton can be in contention for the Cross Country Chase. The eight-year-old for Joseph O'Brien recorded respectable sixth-place finished over course and distance.
A run in the Boyne Hurdle last month will have prepared him well for this trip and is another who might add value to place.
Latenightpass @ 11/1
Latenightpass could have a huge role to play in this race, having placed in both of his cross country starts over course and distance. The current forecast looks to play into his hands and trainer Tom Ellis will be more than aware that the 12-year-old briefly led against Stumptown and Mister Coffey here in December.
