Scotland will be aiming to halt a two-game losing run when they welcome Wales to Murrayfield Stadium in round four of the 2025 Six Nations on Saturday (16:45 KO, BBC One).

Defeats to Ireland and England have all but ended the Scots' hopes of lifting the Six Nations trophy for the first time but Gregor Townsend's side will be eager to respond against a Wales side on course for the wooden spoon.

Team News

Wales have named an unchanged XV from the one that pushed Ireland close in round three for the first time since 2019.

There are two alterations in the replacements, with hooker Dewi Lake coming in for Evan Lloyd and prop Keiron Assiratti preferred to Henry Thomas.

Scotland have made just one alteration to the XV that lost to England, with Darcy Graham coming in at wing in place of Kyle Rowe.

In the replacements, prop Rory Sutherland has recovered from a back injury and takes the spot of Jamie Bhatti, while George Horne and Rowe push Sam Skinner and Jamie Dobie out of the 23.

Scotland vs Wales Odds

Scotland are the firm 1/11 favourites to pick up the win at home, with the draw priced at 25/1 and Wales 13/2 to end a run of 15 successive international defeats.

Scotland to win by 1-12 points inclusive @ 23/10

As has been the case in recent years, Scotland's Six Nations started on a positive note with a 31-19 victory over Italy, but a 32-18 loss to Ireland at Murrayfield followed by a 16-15 defeat to England at Twickenham has dashed any hopes of lifting the trophy.

That narrow loss to the Red Rose was even more galling as Finn Russell missed a conversion in the dying seconds, handing the win to England, and the Scots will be itching to make amends for that result when they host a Wales side that have lost their last 15 internationals.

Despite this dreadful losing streak, interim Wales head coach Matt Sherratt will have been buoyed by the performance in the round three defeat to Ireland, who were pushed all the way in a 27-18 success.

Confidence is everything for this Welsh outfit and the fact Sherratt has stuck with the same XV for this contest should give those players another confidence boost ahead of this encounter.

While Scotland will fancy racking up a few points, they may not be able to get away from Wales in this one and backing the hosts to win by 1-12 points inclusive is the way to go.

Six of the last seven meetings have been decided by that margin and there is value to be had in that outcome happening again.

Scotland centre Huw Jones has been in excellent form in this Six Nations, having bagged a hat-trick against Italy in round one and also crossing the whitewash in defeat to England.

The 31-year-old, who is being tipped to be part of the British & Irish Lions squad for the Australia Tour this summer, is a powerful runner with the ball and he looks capable of touching down for the fifth time in the tournament.
